I bought this album after seeing We Happy Few play live a few months back and after initially being sceptical that they could pull off an 'unplugged' long player (no drums mainly) I have found this to be a slow burner and after a few listens I can't get their melodic Blues riffs out of my head. The two stand out tracks for me are 'John Henry' and 'Berkley Square' mainly for the haunting vocals, however it is the fret work by the lead/rhythm guitarist on every track that drives this two piece to evoke the memory of those early Blues pioneers. Don't let the fact that this band hailing from the deep south (of London) put you off, because if you like your Blues down and dirty, you won't leave feeling disappointed.
