I bought these to use with a new PC. I was looking for maximum output and great sound quality without them taking up too much desk space. This is exactly what I got when I purchased these speakers. The Satellites themselves are only a little bigger in diameter than a golf ball and the subwoofer is less than a foot long and has a 2 inch diameter. As for the sound - well it's crystal clear and has just the right amount of oomph coming from the sub. I haven't had the volume any higher than 3 or 4 on the unit itself - I then use the PC to further control it but lets say that they don't need to be set too loudly to fill a room aprox, 20' x 12', for everyday listening pleasure.
I would have given them 5 stars if it wasn't for one small niggling point, and that's the length of cable for the satellites, 400mm to each from the connection on the sub, it works but for my own purposes I would have preferred at least twice that to position them right on the corner of the desk. That said the main thing with speakers is sound quality and that is second to none.
If you are looking to replace, upgrade or even as a first time purchase then you'll look long and hard to find anything to better these.

These speakers have transformed the sound quality on my 22 inch led TV. The inbuilt speakers of the TV are hollow and tinny and give you the impression the sound is coming from within an empty aircraft hanger. Plug these speakers into the headphone jack of the TV and the quality improves dramatically. Furthermore their size makes them unobtrusive - the satellite speakers sit neatly under the TV. I heartily recommend them to anyone with a similar problem.

I have just set these speakers up and they are amazing.
Came well packaged from Amazon.
Very easy to set up the cables for my set up (Asus N55S) are just long enough.
Great bass on the speaker and fantastic crisp sounds from the 2 small speakers.

Anybody worrying about some reviews saying it comes with an American 2 pin plug do not worry its a uk plug.

I did email just to be sure after reading the reviews and received this email from Amazon...

I understand that you'd like to make sure that the Edifier Aurora 2.1 Speakers you ordered would have a UK plug.
Unless otherwise specified, electrical equipment and appliances sold on Amazon.co.uk are sold with UK electrical plugs.

Great price too £34.99 when some places are selling them £59.99 plus!!

I bought these speakers in preparation for university as I wanted something lightweight and small to transport, yet not at the expense of decent sound and bass. These speakers fit the bill perfectly!

Pros:
Provided with 2 different length AUX cables.

Unusual and aesthetically pleasing design!

All connections are hid behind the subwoofer.

Surprisingly deep and strong bass is provided from the little subwoofer, whilst surprisingly vivid treble is driven from the satellite speakers! The overall result is a remarkable overall soundtrack! Movies are immersive and music sounds very nice, there is a noticeable thump of bass from the subwoofer and vocals and dialogue are well pronounced!

The volume control is housed on the right satellite and gives a gentle but definite click when tapped.

Excellent solution for slim tv's, laptops, desktops and phones. Ideal for university students!

Cons: (and there are a few)
Quite expensive, in particular the black colour! I bought these almost two years ago for around £32 no unsure why they are now £42?!

Just one AUX input.

Bass can muddy a little.

Despite an 'advanced processing chip' to eliminate distortion, distortion can creep in with loud music or very heavy bass.

Mid-range is a little weak, the small satellite speakers are geared more for treble than both frequency ranges.

Toted as 'portable' but in reality more 'semi-permanent' due to the fact they are AC mains driven and have satellite speakers.

Satellite speaker connection is a bizarre almost 'S video' like connection; the actual length from satellite to subwoofer isn't very long (roughly 30 to 40cm) which limits their application somewhat as it can't be replaced.

Travel case used to be provided for free but is no longer given as standard.

Overall:
Great little speakers with minor flaws, pros definitely outweigh the cons. I'd definitely recommended them to significantly boost a slim TV, laptop, phone, desktop etc. There are multiple reviews out there which criticise the output of these speakers as 'weak' or 'disappointing', but bear in mind their intended application. They are not supposed to compete with expensive, purpose designed or powerful 2.1 systems, instead they are intended to add a bit of depth and style to your listening experience.

... but not quite!

Bought these to complement a new larger monitor after my Altec Lancing speakers showed signs of poor shielding as they had started to hiss and spit, and overall I'm quite pleased with these.

They look beautiful and fit in nicely with my Acer kit. They appear to be exceptionally well made and rugged.

the sound is detailed with just a little too much base in some places (this is my first sub in the house!). Don't get me wrong, some music sounds great like that but other quieter tunes can get overpowered. So some form of control over the bass through the sub would have been nice.

However, It has very short satelite cables combined with an old fashioned/proprietary(?) and fiddly din connector (so it would be hard to replace with longer cables).
This makes for positioning difficulties. Also I would have liked an on/off for the whole device on the sub (you press the +/- volume controls together for standby mode, but no true on/off).

Have recently bought these speakers, they were recommended to me by my son and I can only say they deserve 5 stars. The sound and quality is excellent, they are quite small so do not take up a lot of desk space. I am so pleased and can highly recommend them. GREAT SPEAKERS

I bought these ages ago to use on my PC. These looked as though they might fit the bill. I needed something small, so bought on impulse (from a store not Amazon) and hoped they would be good as they are not cheap.

Proved to be brilliant: I still can't believe how much good quality sound comes out of such a diminutive set up. The two speakers are only just over 2" high and wide. They fill a 10 x 15 room (well the whole house actually) at only about half volume and are a good competitor to my small Wharfdale's linked to a Denon system that cost many times more.

These do the job, easy to hide on the desk, easy to pack for travel, they work... clean sharp and substantial sound - opera and piano come out great.

i used to have a pair of logitec pc speakers for my tv/ipod/xbox and i wanted something that had better audio quality. i saw these ones ages ago but never got them. eventually i got them from currys but it was defiantly a good choice. they are compact, powerful, great quality and look awesome. the 'super woofer' fits nicely behind my tv and the small speakers leave plenty of space.

so in conclusion if your looking for a compact, good audio quality and reasonably priced speaker system these are what you want.

This subwoofer exceeded my expectations immensley. I was going to buy another brand until I read the reviews and thought I would go for this one and I am so pleased that I did. It looks great under my Dell monitor and the quality of sound for such a compact device is so smooth. I dont want to amplify loud and it plays with richness and clarity. I have had the volume up and it performs well but its not designed to be a blaster.

I would buy another one tomorrow if I had to without question.
