Reggae and Hip Hop have a long history of being easy musical bedfellows in the UK...Daddy Freddy and Asher D, the Demon Boyz, London Posse are a few acts who mashed the 2 styles to the maximum effect years back...Roots Manuva's new remix album is definitely on a par with the creme de la creme mentioned above. Superb dubs and dancehall versions mixed with Maunva's smooth but steady flow ensure that this album is a sure fire shot winner. Turn up the bass and play till the deaf lady next door starts skanking.

This album isn't totally original but it is absolutely addictive and very worth the purchase! If you're familiar with Roots manuva you'll be very interested with wrong tom's take on his material, he's a talented guy and it shows on this album. great effort =D

This is a collection of Roots Manuva tracks selected from his entire back catalogue & remixed in a reggae/dub style by Wrongtom. Some of these versions sound so natural that they make the original album version sound like the remix. This is especially true of the opener 'Butterfly Crab Walk' ('Run Come Save Me's 'Hol' It Up'), 'Chin Up' (originally 'Awfully Deep's 'Chin High') and the absolute gem that is 'Worl' A Mine' (orignially featured on Alternately Deep - a remix & out-takes album in it's own right).

If you like chilled out reggae/dub or hip-hop then I cannot recommend this album highly enough.

The cover is awesome too - in fact, if ever an item should be judged on it's cover....

First Roots Manuva album I've bought. Very happy with it. Not quite as angry and edgy as a lot of American Hip-Hop yet not as slow and laid-back as most reggae. It's an excellent balance between the two. His lyrics and style remind me a little of Mos Def, it has a strong dub beat that gradually has you nodding along with it. All the tracks on here are remastered versions of older stuff from Roots but the CD was reasonably priced and will be in my car stereo for some time.

Very happy.
