When it comes to compilations I tend to be very particular - if the tracks aren't those originally released as singles I'm not interested.I needn't have worried with this 3 CD set of 53 titles from the Fab 70's. To be honest I actually purchased it on the strength of the inclusion of 'Concrete and Clay' by Randy Edelman, 'Spiders and Snakes' by Jim Stafford and 'Puppy Love' by Donny Osmond as they are very hard to find on compilation CDs. But despite the fact that I have a lot of these tracks on other CDs this is an excellent selection of 70s hits and well worth purchasing for any discerning collector. Ah, the memories that these tunes bring back are individual to everyone who grew up in that fantastic era.

This is yet another good compilation of music from the seventies. If like me you have most of these songs on different albums it's still a very good one to listen too in the car for a good sing a long.

Great album with excellent recordings, I found only one non original recording like one reviewer on here, pity really but the only dissapointment, it was 'There's A Ghost In My House - R, Dean Taylor'

I'm just playing through the titles before downloading and loving every record I hear. There are so many memories. Whatever caused The Sweet to change their style to a disco/R&B-type record with Love Is Like Oxygen?Every single song here is an old radio favourite for me. I especially remember the Top 20/Top 40 as it was sometimes played in those early days. Weekdays were a fanfare of music on the radio, especially if I was listening to Luxy 208. Those were the days, these were the songs and I can't wait to get 'em downloaded! The R. Dean Taylor record is a better mix than the same one I've got on another compilation. What's happened is that the original Mono recording has been changed to a stereo spectrum, and it hasn't worked. The voices are not level, and that early stereo sound was still in experimental mode. It is the original song, but has been played with to try and get a stereo format, and you know, and I know that stereo is not a natural sound. In the recording studio, the engineers try to make sound as we would 'naturally' hear it. Because we're so used to it, now, we've believed stereo is better than mono. Not so, every time! I wish there was a way to pop the recording of R. Dean Taylor's record together on here that we all remember (which I do have on yet another compilation) with this version so that we could all listen to it. Then you'd see what had happened in the recording process. However, besides all that, this is a fantastic album. A perfect compilation.
