Oh What a World is a masterpiece that defies being boxed into a category. A bit of Van Morrison in Sea of Love, a bit of honky tonk in the title track, and some 60's rock in Travellin Light all adds up to one fine compilation. Paul Brady is a versatile musician and an accomplished songwriter who deserves wider recognition. With this CD he might get it.

The title track has been getting a lot of airplay on the BBC and it is certainly the best track on the album, with flavours of Clapton's San Francisco Bay Blues and Van Morrison's gravel-voiced delivery. None of the other tracks are at all memorable. I don't think Paul Brady can make his mind up whether he's a rock, blues or pop artist, and whilst many artists are doing the "crossover" thing successfully, in my opinion he doesn't carry it off.
