Current Cost 'Bridge',

I purchased my 'Bridge' in late November 2010 after being interested by the info that my recently purchased Current Cost 'Envi' was showing me'. I had already purchased the serial to USB PL2303 cable but after a week I began to wonder why, as I needed to leave my rather power hungry (550w) PC on to see how much power the house was consuming so a 'bridge' was the answer. It connected easily and ran perfectly for 3 days, then stopped working, or so I thought! It would appear that the problem was with current cost's servers, the problem 'dissapeared' on the Monday after the weekend, and touch wood has not re appeared. The 'bridge' allows me' to 'see' what my house is doing while I am out at 'work', using my iPhone to access live info from Current Costs web based information page.I would definitely reccomend this device

Interesting device but please beware that the current version only uploads data from the main channel of your Envi. Thus if you want to see data online from the other channels with perhaps Individual Appliance Monitors on you can either wait for the next model or have this one upgraded (no idea of cost or when). Also don't forget this units power supply feeds the Envi and the old Envi power unit needs to be unplugged. Lead between Bridge and Envi display is also very short making it hard to hide the ugly white box with three cables coming out of it. Power, Cat5 Ethernet and to Envi. EDIT: 27-06-11 It seems a new version should be out in a month or two which can also upload the appliance channels. EDIT: 21-09-11 The new model is now on sale at Amazon with either support to upload either up to three or nine appliance channels. Also paid subscription is required and version with one or two years service are on offer. e.g. Current Cost NetSmart PRO 24

I had terrible trouble trying to get the CurrentCost serial drivers installed on my 64bit Windows 7 PC and after 2 hours of struggling I gave up and bought the Bridge. It does exactly what it says it does and works faultlessly. Wish I'd just bought it to begin with!

Just got mine. Broadcasts power usage to Google's PowerMeter, as advertised. Took a while, but worth every penny, IMO.

Very pleased with the device which is quietly working away in the background loading my electricity usage and house temperature to the Internet. The usage data can then optionally be automatically transferred to Google Powermeter. All working well after a little technical support from Current Cost.

This little box let's you 'spy' on your electricity usage at home (or wherever it is installed). It reads the data from a current cost monitor (which you purchase separately) and then posts it on the internet. Sad I know, but now we can check to see if we did turn off the coffee machine - from anywhere there is an Internet connection. It's surprised us just how much can be saved by turning off chargers etc. It may not save the planet, but it makes us feel better.Fast delivery and easy to set up. Plugged into a spare socket on out BT Home Hub.

This little gadget takes my EON supplied Smart Meter reader and pumps the info onto the web. Work REALLY easily and lets you know just how much your tumble dryer is costing you.If you have the smart meter, you MUST get this to track the usage over time

Google has deprecated the Google Powermeter API, so no NEW customers can upload data, only existing. So basically this device is now useless for most.
