I first saw the Red Balloon when my late grandmother took me to the cinema in the 1950s. We went to see the Battle of the River Plate and the Red Balloon was the B film. I was about the same age as the boy in the film and whilst the Battle of the River Plate was confined to history in my mind I never forgot the Red Balloon. I was so upset when the balloon was 'killed' that even the sight of all the other balloons flying to him couldn't console me! Although I have seen it several time since, I never tire of watching it.
I enjoyed Flight of the Red Balloon but the main reason I bought the two should be clear by now!

A lovely film without speech. Lots of meaning about bullying, lets children use their imaginations rather than being spoonfed words.

A nostalgic trip for me, The Red Balloon and I glad that I bought it. What can one say about Juliet Binoche but superb, brilliant and wonderful

"The Red Balloon" I enjoyed as a child. Juliette Binoche is my favourite French actress, so, no brainer. Buy this.
