Good Value drill set - but probably not suitable for metals thicker than 5mm. Must use a two speed drill - slow initial drill start to get the hole started then switch to high speed mode.

I was able to drill holes in an AlKO motor home chassis but you need to keep spraying the work area with WD40 to lubricate the drill and assist its cutting the hole.

I found these very useful, it wasn't obvious at first why the same diameters were available on all three drills, until you realise that it relates to the thickness you are drilling through, they did the job (drilling 20mm holes in 16g box section), but they prefer being used on a bench drill at low speed and a spot of oil helps
Would happily buy another set if required

I use these quite often. They're excellent value for money. the case is very useful too, much better than some of the bulky metal storage cases I've seen. I'd recommend them to anyone.

This is one of those purchase where you take a punt and expect to lose a few quid in exchange for a pile of junk. Not so this product. Tried and tested, I'm very pleased and happy to include it in my tool collection.

Probably not good enough for professional use but an excellent D I Y product. I did like the protective pouch .

Value for money step cutter set. In the short time I've had them they've had considerable use with no problems at all.

On many occasions I have needed to drill holes in cases for hobbyist projects and have used standard drills, upping the size until I had the hole big enough, Often the drills I have were not large enough and I had to resort to using other methods to finish the job and get left with poorly finished projects.

Having seen others talk about stepped drills I decided, at last, to give them ago.

These Am-tech ones were very cheap but did a nice job on the project I bought them for. In fact I actually started a new project where I needed some neat, exact holes to be drilled because I'd purchased these step drills.

Why 4 out of 5 - the case is a bit poor and I have no idea if another set would be even better. But for the price they are very good based on my limited usage.

Having destroyed shop bought garden incinerators of the shiny 'dustbin' type within 3 binsfull of woody waste each, decided to make one DIY from a 50 gal empty bitumen drum. Needed ignition and air holes, and ash draining holes, so used the largest of these.
Perfect for the job, went through the steel like a laser!
Very good VFM.

dubiously I bought this instead of a hole punch to create a hole in the centre of coins to make coin ring jewellery as I want to be able to have control over the coin hole size, is has done the job perfectly and the varying step sizes gives a lot more control over the actual width of the ring surface area, very pleased with this product, I will be buying it again when these are blunted and used to death.

These were used with a cordless 18v driver/drill (not hammer) and worked like a dream.

Excellent product, bargain price, you will be a fool to not even get these as a backup set.
