These are excellent products. Brought two for my tv install into hollow wall. Ran cables from behind tv into one of these, then down the hollow wall, and back out the bottom through this plate. You can choose how big to cut hole in wall depending on thickness of cable plugs. Looks smart
This faceplate isn't something I found easy to get in shops so when I stumbled upon it on Amazon and at this price point it was worth a try. I'm using it to bring through Wii connection cables that I've dropped down through my stud wall from my wall mounted TV. It would have been nice to have the choice of finishes on this plate as all the others in my house are brushed steel, so this white plastic one doesn't really fit in, however its mounted behind a sideboard and then I have brought the cables through the back of the sideboard to connect to the Wii inside.
I found it very easy to fit, not using a back box I cut a small hole in the plasterboard wall brought the cables through then screwed the faceplate directly to the plasterboard. It really is an ideal solution for bringing cables through the wall neatly.
Neat and tidy way of having cables protruding from walls. I'm running co-ax cable from the loft to the study and this provides the outlet. Well made, good bristles and for fun if you have young children, tell them if they stick their fingers through it, the big spider who lives behind it will bite them off!
Well made product to fit standard back box, however when I have used it with a flush patress on a dryline wall the facia of this unit does not sit flush against the facia/plasterboard due to the location of the screws and plate holding the brushes on. Which is a shame as it doesn't give it a neat finish like your light fittings/sockets which are flush against the wall. I've still kept it on and if it is located behind a TV/Stand then I don't see it as a problem, or I would imagine if it was in a surface single gang box. Just want to make people aware of this as it bugs me slightly.
I bought as part of my cable management tidy up for my new tv. I had to move 2 Sky cables, 2 ariel cables, a telephone cable and an ethernet cable. Rather than footer about with lots of wiring and wall plates I used this so I could just run long cables down and out the wall and directly into the various bits of equipment. It arrived in good time and does the job. It can probably be mounted directly onto plasterboard if you cut the hole right but best to buy a plastic mounting box to secure it properly.
Excellent little product. One of those items that just fit the bill nicely. My previous 'hole in the wall' is now much more tidied up and have used the same device in the bedroom where I have recently fitted a TV on the wall and needed to drop cables from the roofspace down the partition walls. Works a treat and stops drafts and spiders!
Needed a solution to replace a solid faceplate that had been hiding unused satellite cables when we decided to move our Sky box. This is perfect as we could feed the cables through easily. We've got 2 cables coming through but there is plenty of free space to feed more cables through if needed.
Excellent price. I could have gone for one with a white brush, but at about 5× the price, which would not have been justified. (The cables are black, anyway.)
Not quite as in the photo: the black "bars" at the top and bottom of the opening, seen in the photo, are not visible in the item received. There is a large, square aperture, as in the photo, but only the brush is visible. A minor detail, but in my opinion an improvement on the photo, so very acceptable.
Supplied with two standard fixing bolts for a deep (power socket style) recessed-pattress. The face plate is a brilliant white, glossy and with rounded edges, so it is not a good match for MK-style faceplates. However, it will be behind a TV, so this is not a serious issue.
A recommended item. I might buy more for other cable outlets.
