This review is from: HP ProBook 6540b, 15.6" HD+ LED, Intel Core i5-430M, 4GB RAM, 320GB HDD, DVD-RW, WiFi, Bluetooth, Webcam, Windows 7 Professional (Electronics)
I was provided with a HP ProBook 6540b by my employer, so I could continue software development at home.

This computer is good and powerful enough to run a test MySQL server, Apache web server, Glassfish Web services, Firefox, Outlook (not my choice!) as well as Netbeans debug/edit session concurrently, without any apparent degradation in performance.

The 1600x900 screen appears flawless, and is excellent to work with for a full working day. The LED backlight system is very easy on the eyes.

The Wireless Lan/bluetooth adaptor, and sound can be switched on and off by touching their indicator lights.

There is a separate power mode button for starting up the computer quickly as purely a web browser (an HP customized Mozilla based one), although in this mode there is a minor flaw, that the wireless adapter won't connect to a router that conceals its SSID.

When used on its docking station the video card is is happy expanding its desktop on to a second higher resolution screen.

It's a great machine too work on.
