5.0 out of 5 stars MISFITS: British Action/Drama/Comedy at its best, 18 Dec 2010

Misfits series 1 was a BAFTA for drama winning cracker, Misfits series 2 is just as entertaining to watch. Many people have discovered The Inbetweeners - Series 1-3 - Complete [DVD], now your mission is to make them discover this, the Misfits.

Thank the stars that the first episode sees the return of Nathan thus revealing his power of life over death. Nathan is truly brilliant - I love to watch him, he just cracks me up. He talks out loud without thinking and has no regard for the consequences of his antisocial behaviour - unconstrained freedom that often gets him and his community service mates into trouble. Cool Curtis, gorgeous Alisha, street smart Kelly, and weird Simon are all back for some more adventures, or rather just trying to survive life in a world gone crazy, facing their responsibilities, and trying to growing up.

Superhoody brings a whole new problem to the gang - he knows their secret - but what is he doing jumping around, watching them, saving them. And who is he? With the demise of their previous unlucky Community Officers they have cast a thoroughly enjoyable bum, who seems not to give a hoot about them, and treats them with zero respect. The role is almost a brief cameo each episode but it would be great if he had more air time.

The episodes are not above dealing with different issues that often than not centre around sex, so beware of the high adult level content in most episodes.

Basically all the cast are back and the show is fantastic. For more information about the show go to the E4 website.

IIt was a good price. The program goes down hill after this series, which itself doesn't measure up to the first...

I have all four seasons of this. The first and second are fantastic, but seasons 3 and 4 aren't quite to the same standard. Watch this!

More sharply written, in-your-face fare - it forever extending the boundaries. The Infamous Five are still on community service, their new supervisor (replacing the two killed) amusingly humourless and sardonic.

This strong second season sees developments. Those supernatural powers, result of the lightning strike, have also affected others. Amongst those around to cause problems are seriously scary shapeshifter Lucy and one who thinks he is in a computer game, points awarded for everyone he tortures and destroys.

Who is the five's masked guardian angel - athletically scaling walls, leaping from roof to roof, repeatedly arriving just in time to protect them from grief? (His identity is the season's biggest surprise.)

Many highlights and much to startle. Especially effective are the sudden changes of mood (as with what follows a rare tender moment in the Christmas Special). Unexpectedly moving is Nathan's reconciliation with his dad (Dexter Fletcher) and how it came about.

Events in this colour-drained surreal world prove strangely addictive, all the cast making the most of their roles. Robert Sheehan is great as gobby, frenetic Nathan. Iwan Rheon as meek Simon increasingly impresses. Seven episodes (including the Christmas one). Interesting behind the scenes extras (Lauren Socha sounding exactly like her character Kelly).

Not for the faint hearted and easily offended. This comedy-with-attitude has a cult following, Season 3 eagerly awaited.

I have become a huge fan of this series & the DVD has helped calm the craving...
Comes with two disc's with six episodes, plus the Christmas special, the Special features include The Making of Misfits, Shooting Misfits, Behind the Scenes & the 11 Online mini films. You get plenty of off screen action, talk from the the talented actors & clever production team: they use different lenses for each Misfit, & the swing & swivel method is explained .
Love the premise of social outcasts with super powers, genius, dark & gritty - sarcastic, shocking & hilarious, alot better than other programs of the same genre, blows them out of the water. No wonder they won a BAFTA, Can watch it again & again & still laugh out loud.
My favourite episode this season has to be the 'Grand Theft Auto' Episode, where a guy is living his life through an XBox Video game.
If you haven't watched the first season do, superb and brilliant British humour, acting & social setting..
