2.0 out of 5 stars A good read
A good read but too many irrelevant details for me. Personally I would have loved pictures of the beauty of the 'eggs'.

Brilliantly researched book on Faberge, and his various commissions for the Russian Imperial Family, focusing mainly on the Imperial Easter Eggs which were given to the Tsarina as anniversary gifts each year.
The book has a lot of details, however it has a distinct lack of decent pictures: Something to consider if you are after a book with lots of illustrations as well as texts.
A great buy for history fans as well as those researching the Imperial House of Romanov and their extravagances.
Recommended as an addition to a Royal Historical bookshelf!

This review is from: Faberge's Eggs: The Extraordinary Story of the Masterpieces That Outlived an Empire (Kindle Edition)
This is an excellent read for anyone who wants the background against which the eggs were made as well as their fall into obscurity and subsequent rise to notoriety! Well worth a read!
