After reading a few negative reviews on this album, I was hesitant - what might my beloved Hot Hot Heat have turned there music in to?
With a heavy heart I pressed play and was very pleasantly surprised! No where near as downbeat or as opposed to their past music as I had heard, this album is simply a new set of tunes.
Go in with an open mind and you'll appreciate this album as much as I do, it's definitely still HHH - Steve Bays amazing voice and that background style won't let you forget that, but it's newer. Can't be a bad thing in my book, if they carried on churning out similar tunes we'd all say they've gone stale and it all sounds too alike!
Definitely give it a try, if you're a real HHH fan you'll like it.

I've enjoyed every HHH album since Make Up the Breakdown and I was a little dissapointed with this one at first. It's certainly a big step away from the pure pop of the ace Happiness Ltd, and has some of the bands most aggressive and edgy music to date. This initially made for some challenging listening, but I certainly think it was worth persevering with and I'm glad to see they can still knock out solid albums almost ten years after their 5 minutes of Make Up the Breakdown fame. The title track is the clear highlight for me- a fantastic song that'll give you a taste of what to expect from their new sound.

This is the first Hot Hot Heat album I have heard, and I think it is really good - there certainly are some real standout tracks, such as Times a Thousand, Future Breeds and the superb Zero Results. The music is consistently upbeat but not two-dimensional - they draw on different influences and blend different styles. The lyics are funny but serious. Not every track is good but overall it is a very consistent album that I have enjoyed playing many times already.

I have waited for Hot, Hot, Heat to bring out a new album as their last two were fantastic. This is terrible, I keep going back to it to give it another go but am affraid I am struggling to see where they are going with this album. No songs really stick out for me and it just moulds into background music. I love Hot Hot Heat as well and seen them live twice which was great. Feel bad writing this.
