I just can't make this work... tried on each size, tried different thicknesses of wools, and each time the resulting pompom is loose and falls apart. The instructions that come with it are next to useless. Disappointed :(

Lovely idea, but instructions not clear enough and pom-poms fall apart when you cut them off.
Have watched several how-to videos and all seem to lose the crucial moment off the top of the screen.

The trick seems to be that after tying the two ends together, before cutting, you need to cut exactly the right place for it to work. The other end of the yarn where you start winding is what causes them to undo. Found if I could locate this piece and tie it off too the pom-pom held together.

But this extra tying is not something my 3 year-old daughter can manage, though she does the rest - which was the whole point.

(She's now having a great time cutting up all the failed pom-poms into even smaller pieces all over the carpet).

ETA - Have found a way to make it work, though not in instructions. When you first put the end of yarn in to the handle of the loom, and then take it to the other end, before you start winding - cut it off! By cutting off the piece (I left a bit of length) to tie around the middle first, you avoid accidentally cutting the 'wrong' end after you finish winding. Our pom-poms now stay together, though notably not particularly full, and you have to tie seriously tight. This is now workable, though I probably wouldn't buy a set for someone else now.

Don't waste your time or money with this product. I'll stick with two cardboard discs in future . Ok they won't last but it better than these anyday!

Pom POM's made using this were too sparse for my liking, and my friends said the same. Need to be able to get more wool on it.

This is one of those things you think is going to be handy, and really isn't much better than the old fashioned way of making pompoms - two pieces of circular cardboard, with a hole in, and a pair of scissors.

This product is no good for making a full Pom Pom but having watched a tutorial it seems the Pom poms made are half Pom poms like you would sew on a hat or something. Definitely not what I was looking for. Prefer the Clover Pom Pom maker. That does the job.

Having bought the pompom maker to give to my grand daughter I fortunately decided to test it out first. No written instructions, only pictures implied it was going to be an easy process, Was I wrong!!
In the end 3 adults tried to get it to work but couldn't!!
Thank goodness we didn't give it to her without checking first.
I will be sending it back!
