5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book., 7 Mar 2005
By A Customer
This is a very good book, however, it is the Wiccan form of Witchcraft and not "traditional", so Ms McCoy does talk quite abit about the wiccan laws of harming no one and three fold law, although, she does have a refreshing common sense attitude to both laws that is often missing from books on Wicca.
I am not a wiccan, however, I did find this book very interesting, and the questions the author raises, the challenges she puts in front of the reader are applicable to most pagan paths. Much of what she writes has a kaballah flavour, and is just a damn good, interesting read. If you thought all Wiccans are just fluffy, love the light to be ridiculed people, then read this book and open your eyes a little more and appreciate there is a lot more depth to Wicca than you find in the basic "how to" books for novices!
As I said, this is primarily a book on advance Wicca and not really witchcraft - the author appears to use the term "witchcraft" in this situation to mean the Wiccan interpretation. However, there is still much good stuff in this book for the non-wiccan witch!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic for intermediates, 17 Mar 2005
By A Customer
I loved this book though I feel it is better suited for intermediates, as there is nothing "new" in this for advanced witches. However, I enjoyed this book's sensible approach and it was helpful to be reminded of certain ideas/topics that can easily be forgotten about when you have chosen a particular path or area of expertise. Having read several of her other books this is a firm favourite.

5.0 out of 5 stars am i the first to rate/review this book!!!!????, 28 Mar 2004

This is a really good book. If you've been studying witchraft for a few years and want to learn more without having to listen to someone ramble on and on about why and how....this is the book for you. Iftexplores all sorts of magic from astral projection to drawing down the moon. Edian Mcoy is a really expressive writer and makes her books about topics that are easily made boring, really interesting. I give this book a nine out of ten or a four and a half out of five (it would have been better colour illustrated but Edian Mcoy does a pretty decent description) so.................. hurry up, just buy the book.
