Purchased this TV for my Bedroom.Its a new model and its perfect.I am using it with Freeview The picture is crystal clear and the sound punchy.I put it up on the the wall with a Hama bracket(also purchased from Amazon).Took me about 25mins.Very pleasing to look at even when not switched on, with its shiny rose/black coloured bezel and curved underside with clear plastic trim.The back of the TV is metal not the usual plastic and has all the HDMI points that you need.At the side is a USB port so you can watch movies photos etc that are on your memory stick.I thoroughly recommend this TV.

This is an excellent tv. it is much better than the one it replaces. The image quality is outstanding. it even better viewing in high definition. i have nothing bad to say about the tv.
i have another samsung tv. but this is much much better.I did a lot of research before purcahsing the tv. Amazon offered the best price and the delivery was quick. well done amazon team.

Right, first up this is a fantastic TV at a great price from Amazon. I haven't seen this cheaper anywhere else, and the delivery from Amazon was was incredibly quick and hassle free. There's only one or two retailers online who I'd trust with a purchase such as this, and Amazon tops the list for me. And no, I'm not paid to say this!

I came to this TV as my first HD set from an older CRT TV, which was pretty good really but had certain picture geometry problems that I just couldn't get on with, and had a much smaller screen viewing area. If you're used to CRT tellies, then you'll know how relatively easy they are to set up to get a good quality picture. Colour me flabbergasted then, when I set up this Samsung TV and went into the menus. There's options everywhere! It can be really daunting, and I'm not surprised to see many reviews here saying they've had difficulty optimising the picture. It took me a lot of trial and error to get the picture I like from it, which was not helped one bit by scouring the net for help. There is a lot of erroneous info around about how to set up a good quality picture. Some of it is useful, don't get me wrong, but there's a lot of conflicting information too about certain settings. Particularly the backlight settings. I was told in some guides to turn it right down and compensate for it with the brightness and contrast settings to preserve its life span, but frankly this just doesn't work this way, certainly not on this TV anyway. I had to set my backlight to 14 out of 20 to get a realistic looking and consistent image I could work from. Dropping to lower levels rendered the picture dark and unwatchable, no matter how I might then try to set the brightness and contrast.

Also, I'm no expert but it seems to me that one person's perfect picture will not be another persons. Not only is there your personal and subjective opinion to consider, as well as the lighting in your room and the placement of the set, but also the fact that the same model TV might have a completely different set of firmware and settings technology inside. I could post up my settings, but they most likely will be of no use to another Samsung owner. Personally, I think a good rule of thumb is just to stick to the basic settings you're used to at first and don't consider altering things like white balance or colour tint at all. But there is no "one size fits all" list of settings that anyone can give you. A handy hint is to use the THX Optimiser on your Star Wars or Indiana Jones DVD to help you. You'll probably find it hiding in the language options. It's a quick and useful tool that will help you get good contrast and brightness at least.

Once set though, it's a fantastic picture, especially if you get HDMI leads. They don't cost much, and there's three available HDMI ports to connect your equipment. We use a V+ box with this, and the HD channels look stunning. So much so that it's rare we watch the regular channels, though I will add that they too look brilliant. I'd heard that standard channels can look really poor on LCD tellies, but though there is a drop in quality compared to the HD broadcasts they still look every bit as good as they did on my CRT. I also use a Wii with a component cable on this TV and a Toshiba SD3010 upscaling DVD player with HDMI and they both look fantastic too, the DVD player being particularly impressive and comparing incredibly well with HD broadcasts.

A quick note about the mounting stand that comes with the TV. A few people have complained about how difficult it is to fit it to the set, and yes I found this too. No matter how much pressure you put on the screws, the stand will wobble as if it isn't fitted right. However, what I did solved it easily, making a potential hour long struggle a two minute job. Instead of connecting the stand straight away and trying to screw it in, insert the three screws into the TV without the mounting stand first and screw them right in as far as you can. This has the effect of breaking in the connecting screw holes, so when you do connect the stand, the screws will go right in and the TV will be secure. Easy. Hope this helps those of you struggling. No need for lubrication or washers of any kind.

The only real criticism I can think of is one that has been mentioned here previously, and that's the viewing angle. If you aren't sat in the optimum position square on the screen then the picture can begin to grey at other angles. Certainly it was something the missus noticed straight away, as we have our TV on a stand in the corner of the room and she sits at an angle to it. You can offset the problem to a certain degree by optimising the settings, but it's an issue you won't really ever remove on this set, and I would advise you to consider this before buying. It's certainly not a problem unique to this TV though, and more expensive sets can and do still have this issue.

And that's it. An amazing bargain of a TV that looks the biz with everything you throw at it, and even looks the biz when it isn't on! Highly recommended.

Having just received my brand spanking new Samsung telly, I was a little put out to find that the screws supplied in the box don't actually fit the stand - they can be screwed in about half an inch, but no more, meaning that the telly wobbles precariously on the stand. I have resorted to resting it on books for the time being, but expect Samsung to provide either new screws or a new stand, whichever works - I didn't pay £300 for a telly to rest it on some old literature.

That said, the television itself is excellent - I have yet to try it on HD mode as my cable hasn't arrived yet, but the picture quality is excellent (showing analogue in all its fuzzy glory), and the sound is fearsome. The added features such as being able to play videos straight off USB are great, and the whole thing is easy as pie to set up.

Overall, I am really pleased with the telly, it's just a shame about the issue with the stand, which I hope will be resolved sooner rather than later.

This television is everything I hoped it would be and is very good value for money. It was very easy to set up and has a good clear picture and sound. I would recommend it to any potential purchaser.

Our 13 year old Toshiba CRT set was still going strong, but as we go digital next June it seemed like a good idea to get a digital TV before the VAT went up. We picked the Samsung LE32C450 as the price was reasonable and the reviews were generally positive.

I ordered it on Christmas day and it arrived on the 29'th. Well done Amazon.

Some reviews have mentioned difficulty screwing on the base, but I experienced no problems.

When it was first switched on it went through its scan for local channels. Surprisingly it failed to find the only watchable BBC1 signal, from our local transmitter, and stored instead several channels with blurry signals from much more distant transmitters. I had to program the local BBC1 channel manually. Doing this, and sorting the stored channels into my preferred order seemed to involve an awful lot of button clicking.

When I was able to settle down and actually look at the picture, I was very disappointed. Using the "Standard" settings, the picture was very dark. Outdoor scenes were dull, indoor studio scenes gloomy, and low-light scenes so murky that they were un-watchable. Shadow detail was also very poor, so that dark clothing was reduced to uniform black. I would have hoped that Samsung could have chosen their default settings so that the TV would give an acceptable picture "out of the box". Using the "Film" settings seemed little better, and the "Dynamic" settings were bright but too garish.

There is a very wide choice of picture adjustments available. Unfortunately these are not very clearly documented and there is no guide on how to set them up for a good picture. Some of the advanced settings don't even seem to do anything. I fiddled around for a long time, usually mainly making things worse. Eventually I had to make up a DVD with a test card, do it properly. In the end all that needed was to raise brightness from 45/100 to 60-65, raise backlight from 13/20 to 14-15 and raise gamma to +2. The picture is now acceptable, though I would not describe it as wonderful. It still seems a little dull and flat. Possibly I have just got fussy because of the previous difficulties.

Maybe I have just been unlucky and got a rogue model, but on the basis of what I have experienced, I would not recommend the Samsung LE32C450.

TV easy to set up and install. Good quality picture and would recommend this item to anyone.

Bought 2 of these tvs for our front room and the childrens playroom/sitting room.

Picture quality can vary and I am guessing that if you wanted to use it for gaming/hi def stuff you would be disappointed, but sound is good.

I think they are decent tvs for the money. You can buy much more expensive ones, but these are attractive, user friendly and good quality - what more do you need?

This product was so easy to install and was delivered with 19 hrs of ordering and could be tracked every step of the way, WELL DONE AMAZON, free delivery as well. Im not going to review the actual television as the name "Samsung " speaks for itself, Just Fantastic. But i did want to mention the screws for fixing the base to the tv,( as has been mentioned in other reviews), were just to long and left the television loose and wobbly, but was soon cured by adding three small washers on the screws, problem solved. Now settling down to watch some great television on a fantastic television set. T.J. Pharo.

A very good TV apart from one point also noticed by Dave( earlier reviewer ), This TV does not have an OFF switch which is very annoying as my sockets are buried inthe back of my TV unit, and not very good at this time, we are told not to leave our small electrical units on STAND BY to save electricty. Please Mr Samsung find a way of fitting an OFF SWITCH on your future products.
