5.0 out of 5 stars Why didn't I read this years ago?, 13 April 2013

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: On The Incarnation (Kindle Edition)
I was curious to know why mainstream Christianity insists that Jesus is God incarnate, and who better to argue the case than the 4th Century genius who refuted the heresy of Arius that was threatening to destroy the early church. Athanasius presents a concise and compelling case for what we would now consider as Orthodoxy, and does so in a manner that is surprisingly 'modern'. In less than 100 pages he summarises what later authors have taken hundreds of pages to do. Thoroughly recommended for anyone trying to get their head about complex issues such as the nature of the Word or Logos, the necessity of the crucifixion and resurrection, and why the new faith was able to displace the Greek or Roman paganism that had preceded it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great original text, 10 May 2013

This review is from: On The Incarnation (Kindle Edition)
As with St. Anselm's 'Cur Deus Homo' this is another easily readable original text forming another view of Christology. Surprisingly easy to read it is another of the main texts for anyone studying Christology or wanting an attempted explanation of Christ as part of the trinity and his divine/human nature.

I recommend this book to my fellow believers ,who will find as they read the most wonderful truths that will never perish,
This man, Athanasius knew his topic when he started writing all those years ago, and that truth is just as fresh and relevant today, and will be more so in time yet to come.
