5.0 out of 5 stars Unflagging excellence, 11 Sept. 2009
Available from specialist outlets already (11 September), this is another volume of outstanding acoustic music. It's hard to pick any above the rest, but John Martyn, Iris Dement, Kate & Anna McGarrigle and Mark O'Connor get repeated plays from me. I'm expecting Transatlantic Sessions 4 in the autumn to be the TV highlight of the year, and hopefully it will be released on CD and DVD not long afterwards. I just wish "they'd" put Series 2 out on DVD (and reissue the CDs for those who can't get them). I only discovered these series last year, and they're the best things I've heard for many a year. I haven't said much about the disc, but you'll find that out for yourself when you buy it.

4.0 out of 5 stars a bag of mixed songs, 21 April 2012

I bought this because of Dick Gaughan (Both sides of the Tweed) and I do not regret it. There are few songs worth the price of a whole album, and this is one of them.

And as a reward for paying the ten-fold (as compared to buying the single MP3) you get a bag full of folk music; regardless of your personal taste every track is well done and worth listening to. This volume does live up to its expectation (assembling the best of folk musicians on both sides ot the atlantic) and should not be a disapointment to folk music lovers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great music, 21 Jan. 2011
This CD has been played almost constantly since received. Every track a winner. My only adverse comment is that some of the sound is a bit fuzzy on my very basic CD player. But overall I'm delighted with the CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Varietyand expertise, 29 Jan. 2013

The variety and expertise of artists were my reasons for purchasing this album. Lively instrumental tracks contrast with plaintive melodies.
