5.0 out of 5 stars Best RC Helicopter I have owned.
This is a very good and very strong helicopter. The gyro make it very stable and the twin sets of blades give lots of lift, you can really feel the down draft. The fact that its is also 3 channel (UP,Down,Left,Right and forward and backward) make this great as you can make lots of stupid courses to try and fly. Charging I found takes around 15-20min and gives around...

3.0 out of 5 stars ? faulty batch
As previous reviewers have commented - the model I was supplied with is different to the one in the picture. The stabilising bar is now inbetween the blades and extremely flimsy. Charging I found takes around 15-20min and gives around 5-10min flying time but it depends how you fly it lots of power and the really drains. The LED blinking light on the front is very cool two.
All in all its very well made flys great and although is £40 very good fun. For small kids as well as big kids like me!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Roosty Review, 20 July 2010

Don't on any account underestimate this helicopter - its stylish, has been built to look techy rather than toy-like and flies beyond anything that you can imagine. It hangs in the air like its on a piece of string. When asked to turn either left or right, it immediately responds and amazingly stops dead at the point that you return the controller to the central position. I use mine to chase houseflies around the living room, they still have the edge over me but.... I'm gettin better!

There's nothing so fun, satisfying, and enjoyable than maneuvering this little beauty around your living room, wincing as it comes a little too close to the furniture or a light bulb, making police-siren noises to yourself when it dashes through the air, or jumping for joy as you execute a textbook landing on the coffee table. Fun for all genders and all ages!

The controls are superb - really precise and they require little getting used to. The craft can hover superbly, turn quickly and effectively, and build up quite a bit of speed. Also, I cannot understand how this is so durable, as I have crashed mine numerous times and it still seems to be in one piece! However, try and avoid doing this - it is still lightweight and pretty delicate.

Fun fun fun!

As previous reviewers have commented - the model I was supplied with is different to the one in the picture. The stabilising bar is now inbetween the blades and extremely flimsy. As a result after one flight the bar started to clip the lower blades and the flyer is unflyable. I contacted the seller (not Amazon) who admitted that they have had lots of customers contacting them with similar issues. My friend has a previous model with stabilising bar above the blades and this flies perfectly. Do Not Buy until they change the model.

UPDATE - I have now managed to get one of the older models where the balancing bar is above the blades. This new model appears to much more durable. It flys very well and is great to control. I think its great. I would give the old model 5 stars and the new model 1 star - as it appears to be hit and miss which model people will receive I have gone for 3 stars overall

The model came with some very basic and uninteresting packaging, but my first impression was how stylish and indeed beautiful the helicopter was. The instruction leaflet gave all the basics. After charging up on the USB from my computer, I got 6 minutes of practice before I had to recharge. BTW the leaflet is incorrect here - the USB light comes ON when it's charged not when it's charging. After the fourth session I was hovering happily and enjoying the flashing lights. Sixth session, forwards and backwards.
One thing though - because it's light, the helicopter is sensitive to draughts and even upcurrents caused by flying over uneven surfaces, which causes instability. Don't think about flying outside unless it is absolutely dead calm. Mine went nextdoor even with a slight breeze.
But, 2 weeks later, it's fused electrically. After yet another drop onto its nose, the lights went out and I could hear fizzing and a strange electrical smell and now nothing. I suppose after hundreds of crashes and with an outlay of £25, I've had my money's worth. I'll keep it for parts and buy another for Christmas.

2.0 out of 5 stars Very flimsy and badly put together!, 19 Feb 2011

Had this helicopter ordered for Xmas, because of Royal Mail it arrived in January!
After the 2nd flight, as lots of other people have stated, the small metal pins that pivot the stabiliser bar came loose and the thing was un-flyable.
I managed to make some more from clipping small parts from a paper clip, which is about the same diameter as the original pins, and this helped.
All in all, if you crash this copter, you are in for a world of trouble - its far too flimsy and its very difficult, nigh on impossible to get spares for it.
I emailed ThumbsUk and they ignored my email.

Battery life is dire - you are lucky to get more than 8 minutes flight from this, which is a great shame because when it is flying, its a fantastic helicopter!
With a better battery life and more durable build quality, this would come highly recommended.
But to be honest, I'd avoid this and go for the Syma S107 instead. Yes, the Syma is not as quick in forward flight, but its better built and has at least a 10 minute battery capacity.

Avoid!

The gyro lost the two small pins fixing the gyro already on the first flight. We managed to find them and fix the problem, but very soon the same happened again and this time the pins were lost. The helicopter is very entertaining, however the durability leaves room for improvement. It is definitely a better flyer than the S107.

Great toy albeit a bit too sophisticated / difficult for my 7 year old.
had a major "crash" but still managed a further 10 minutes fly time before the gear box in the chopper ceased to function.
Pan Gadgets the suppliers were quick to respond via email and replaced the unit. Explanation being bad batch of units received from manufacturer ..which I believe
New one perfect although me and my son are not destined to be pilots!
