As an adult who grew up with Star Wars I have always been a huge fan of Boba Fett who is, lets face it, the coolest Star Wars character ever.

I always vowed I would buy the Lego Slave One if it was ever re-released and for years I kept a vigil with only my Boba Fett lego keyring to see me through.

And then, last year, they finally did it. Slave One upgraded and looking sooo tasty.

I got this kit for xmas and took my time building it, the model isn't hard to construct but take your time as it is easy to mess something up if you rush it. Compared to the previous version this looks much better and more like the Slave One from the movies rather than a rough Lego rehash. The body has more mismatching panels and there are little secret compartments to stow supplies and spare blasters, all of which are included.

The kit has awesome figures, Boba Fett has been given a makeover and has more detailing, in addition he now has his cloak and an aerial for his helmet.

The Han Solo figure is done well and it fits in the carbonite mould which is a nice touch. The Bossk figure looks cool too but I think it would have been better to have a couple of the Bespin guards that push the carbonite slab to Slave One. Thats a small pick as the Bossk figure does look cool and will surely be worth a small fortune in years to come. I have stowed mine away in the spare escape pod on the Tantive IV.

The Slave One straddle a fine line between display model and toy, it can be a bit fragile if handled too roughly but at the same time doesn't have as many fiddly little bits which fall off when handled. I think Lego have done particularly well. The Tantive IV by comparison, although looking much nicer, tends to shed pieces when you play with it for any length of time.

If you like Boba Fett buy this kit, I waited too long when the previous version was out and I missed out. These kits are limited edition and will not be around forever.

You know you want it.

Was great fun to build! Definitely NOT suitable for under 9's, as per box recommendation, as it is quite a bit of work to build (that is part of the fun of Lego) and includes small projectiles (fired by pushing from back so fairly weak - i.e. fairly safe). The instructions are very clear and come in two booklets.

BTW the Boba Fett cape is in one of the small white square card envelopes.

Is a bit expensive but when looking at the work that's go into the design and thinking about the logistics of supplying all the right bits etc... IMHO the price is representative of the quality expected from Lego.

Okay first off. I am 38. I would love to say i bought this for my 7yr old son, but i didnt. I never grew up. I bought this for myself. Hey ho. Actually he likes it too.
It is a fantastic model, and is fun to build. It took me about 3 hours give or take tea breaks. It is better than some Star Wars models i have seen, (although the Millenium Falcon is on my buy list)but if your a Boba Fett fan like i am, and saw Empire Strikes Back when it first came out, then this item is a truly 'must own'. Anyone buying this wont regret it, but you have to be a Fett fan to really appreciate it. It is quite durable as well, but dont go too mad.
Overall not a bad £60 spent, and it can be improvised too which is good. I am going to add an extra control panel in the interior.
So buy Slave 1. Now! You will regret it if you dont.

This is a good set, really involving and takes a good while to build. The minifigures are Boba Fett, Bossk and Han in his cloud city gear and the new Han in carbonite block is much improved on the old one, you get a proper moulded head and hand rising from the surface of the block and can attach the Han minifigure into the back if you want. The instructions are clear and thorough, though I had a bag of grey accessories at the end which we didn't get any clues how to use (the guns were easy enough, but there seemed to be a skirt and neck decoration of some type, I guess they might have been for when Han is being removed from the carbonite, but not really sure).

All in all, this is a good, solid set, though I tend to think it's a bit over-priced and was glad to get it in the sale.

LEGO Star Wars 8097: Slave I

As a lifelong Star Wars fan and a massive fan of Bobba Fett/Jango Fett and Slave 1 this product is awesome!!!!!

Growing up with Star Wars and Bobba Fett being my all time best character this is maybe one of the best Lego Star Wars products out there. I'm 30 years old and my wife bought me this for my birthday this year as I have loads of Star Wars stuff figures etc and I am a massive collector. This product is a really great build the details on the ship are really good Lego did a fantastic job on this toy. The Bobba Fett mini figure is bad to the bone, really well detailed just like Bobba. The only down side is they have put Bossk in the set, even though he is also bad to the bone he was not in this scene in Empire. They maybe should have put a couple of storm troopers in or a couple of Besbin guards instead like in the film. Han Solo is a great figure and the carbonite is really well detailed.

Overall for any Star Wars fan this is a must have for your collection, go and get it as this price is not a bad price unlike as in Toy's R Us as it is up for £81.99 (not worth that price) buy from Amerzon. Hopefully Lego will re make Jango's Slave 1 which I will buy.

I bought the Slave 1 as a grown adult so not so much as a toy, just a new year treat for myself. It will be going into my collection of all things star wars related to be honest. It's a great addition, with very easy but effective steps to making an accurate representation of Slave 1.

The mini figures are excellent... especially Boba and Han Solo in carbonite. They are bound to become firm favourite pieces with collectors when this set has ceased to be made. My partner bought me the Millenium Falcon for Christmas. Although that was a higher price tag (£109) I feel you got more for your money (especially in a bricks for money ratio) this is definately harder to pick up and handle as it feels more fragile. the firing missles are a great addition if its for the kids... not so much for the collector.

The overall finished look is fantastic though. I just wish that both this and the falcon came with baseplates and some sort of enviroment display. I now have an need to build some Cloud city transport bays/platforms with ajoining walkways to place both ships and figures on.

I may add the x-wing to my collection at a later date... we'll see

Bought for my sons Christmas present. Old school classic Star Wars ship, the ones I remember from the original films. Excellent set. Big, well engineered and great play value, though I do have to keep giving it back. My son loves it also.

Bought this for my six year old son for his birthday, and he absolutely LOVES IT!!!
The model was relatively easy to build, and is a pretty good representation of the original Slave 1 as seen in the Star Wars films. The mini figures of Bossk, Boba Fett and Han Solo are great, and the addition of the carbon frozen mould is fantastic.
Overall, I think this model is excellent, if maybe a little pricey (although what Star Wars lego isn't?), and my son absolutely loves it!
Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Recieved slave one as a Christmas present and was really pleased, I am very fortunate to have a large number of star wars Lego kits and this was a perfect edition. The model was more challenging than previous and once completed was perfect in scale. Would highlyn recommend to children from 8 upwards (box states nine). Also ace present for those big kids as well :-)
