The review above is incorrect. There are Zero Advertisements here and all the graphics are there. Everything is here and the illustrations are a stunning addition to this Kindle find. 3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing version of a great book
I bought this book with great excitement as one of the first books for my new Kindle. The stories themselves are fantastic and don't need any review from me. However, I was very disappointed in the quality of the Kindle edition. There are lines missing and at one point where there should be a diagram, there is, instead, an advertisement for a Kindle edition of the...

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent value and beautifully packaged., 28 Nov 2010
The review above is incorrect. There are Zero Advertisements here and all the graphics are there. Everything is here and the illustrations are a stunning addition to this Kindle find. All nine volumes of Sir Arthur Conan Doyles works with the world's best known detective compiled in one big book. This means that you will find all sixty stories that Doyle ever wrote with Holmes as protagonist in this compilation. Save about 80% compared to the single volumes and take all the stories with you in one file.

Sherlock Holmes is one of my favorite series. And this compilation features all his books. The e-text is very well prepared and it's well worth the very reasonably priced amount. Ignore the previous review as that may have been a different version. This version is perfect. Love it, love it, love it. The Table of Contents is brilliant and you can click on Shakespeare's face in any chapter to take you right back to the beginning if you like. I mostly appreciate the illustrations adding that drama and feel to the book. It's great to be able to read everything that Conan Doyle ever wrote on Sherlock.

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing version of a great book, 29 Aug 2010

I bought this book with great excitement as one of the first books for my new Kindle. The stories themselves are fantastic and don't need any review from me. However, I was very disappointed in the quality of the Kindle edition. There are lines missing and at one point where there should be a diagram, there is, instead, an advertisement for a Kindle edition of the complete works of Jane Austen. It's a shame that something so shoddy should be on sale. If it was an actual book I would've returned it. Get your finger out Amazon.

4.0 out of 5 stars Confusing Editions, 29 Mar 2011
This review is from: The Complete Sherlock Holmes Collection (Kindle Edition)
From what I can gather both of the above reviews are correct as they both appear in different editions of the book.
I bought the 72p edition which seems to link to the 3 star review. I presume the 5 star review applies to the updated edition.
Amazon has made this confusing as people are trying to give advice to shoppers but are having their reviews applied to different editions!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very inspiring, 30 Nov 2011

Now, the stories of Sherlock Holmes is perhaps the greatest collection of exploits about a man that has ever been written. The good thing about this collection that is that it brings together a wide array of the stories---long and short. Answers to mysteries are brought to a conclusion to the reader in a cryptic manner that leaves the reader awed at the end. It is a style employed in Triple Agent Double Cross. The solutions are breath-taking and the descriptions and settings are very real to life. This is a great book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth every Penny, a great addition for Conan Doyle fans., 20 Jun 2011

The Complete Sherlock Holmes Collection (With Active Table of Contents and Original Illustrations)is exactly what it says it is. At last I was able to read every single one of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's novels and short stories. I found the Table of Contents perfect and very useful, also I simply loved all the illustrations of which there are hundreds. It helps create the mood and sets the stage to all of the crimes, so you feel the sense of the period being that these are the original line drawings. There are even some in color as well, which doesn't matter on the kindle anyway. The other great thing here is that because every story is here, you get to see the growth of the character in Holmes as he becomes the icon of crime solving within this period of history and the illustrations show his maturing features I found.

5.0 out of 5 stars Elementary my dear Watson, 14 Sep 2011
This review is from: The Complete Sherlock Holmes Collection (Kindle Edition)
As the title says it's the complete Sherlock Holmes all in one, and excellent value at the price. The language can be old fashioned and you can often skip the first paragraph of the short stories because the action starts in the second, but every case is gripping. Recommended.

2.0 out of 5 stars Would be a good edition but ..., 8 April 2011
I delayed getting a Kindle until I felt I could be confident about the quality of the ebooks available. I have just downloaded this, my second book, and only read one of the short stories so far. Already I am disappointed in the quality, as several pages were filled with 'wrong' new lines, especially during speech exchanges. Often there was only one word on a line, a couple on the next and the rest (i.e. of the same sentence) continued on yet another. This may sound like a minor quibble, but it's actually very irritating and does not make for a good reading experience. I wouldn't find this sort of problem in a printed book. I hope I am not going to find it throughout the Kindle elibrary? Kindle, please edit this one & get a corrected version onto your website.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with this kindle edition of the complete collection of Sherlock Holmes stories. It's in its original wording, has a table of contents, and is well produced. For £0.77, look no further!
