5.0 out of 5 stars Last but not least......
I agree in part with other reviewers that the final series wasn't so much about shouts, but more about the lives of the firefighters. But that, for me, wasn't a bad thing. I just loved the fact that Sally and Frank got together, at last, and that George also had a happy ending. But then I suppose I'm just an old romantic at heart. I wish more series' were programmed,...

2.0 out of 5 stars not the usual standard
I purchased this DVD set to complete the rest and was really looking forward to watching it as I found series 1-13 fantastic, even though many rated from series 11 onwards not as good due to budget cuts, however it was more than a budget cut in this case.
Firstly this series is much shorter at only 8 episodes and they just drag on, there are hardly any "fire scenes"...

I purchased this DVD set to complete the rest and was really looking forward to watching it as I found series 1-13 fantastic, even though many rated from series 11 onwards not as good due to budget cuts, however it was more than a budget cut in this case.
Firstly this series is much shorter at only 8 episodes and they just drag on, there are hardly any "fire scenes" and when there are they are over with in under a minute, except for one near the end of the series. New charcters are in it out of the blue, and are not easy to endear towards either. What happened to Maggie the cook ( i don't remeber her retiring)
The story line slowly flows on through each episode but it's monotonous, there's nothing to get your teeth into, it was boring and frustrating at times. More based on fire officers either arguing & fighting, or being a gangsters mob there's no explanation as to how or why he has these extra curricular activities, and there is no realism to that part of the story it doesn't fit in. The longing and wanting between the station officer and Sally also becomes a bit of a drag as nothing ever happens.

To be honest the DVD is ok to get if you want to complete the collection but wait for it to become cheaper. The way this was written was like they had run out of ideas and money and I can see why it was axed. Wasn't the usual standard at all. A great shame and an insult to end a fantastic series this way.

2.0 out of 5 stars londons burning, 18 Aug. 2010

You can tell we're at the end of the series of Londons Burning', Its by no means as good as the first 10-12 epsiodes , The main stars had all left except three and and the way the drama was heading its such a shame.
I never known one fire station to lose so many firemen killed or traped in a fire on a shout as at Blackwall' station and changing the whole context of the programme @ making big changes to it so quickly, viewers don't like, therefore they lost viewers and ratings went down, killing of so many main stars is a mistake, bringing in new stars for only one series is no good either, you cannot get to know them properly @ suddenly there gone and another new one arrives for a series, the comedy of the show had gone, bringing in a butch firewoman played by Heather Peace did'nt work for me either, unlike all the other fire women we had in the show they blended in great.bring back firemen Tate, Nick,Bayleaf, Sicknote,Kevin,Billy,Jo,malcolm,Colin,John, vaseline, charisma, tony, kate @ carol, They where the stars of the programme and they made the programme . at s a great shame , I only got it to complete my collection, very disappointed , if you buy it wait for the price to come down ,
