I made the mistake of buying a second one too soon after starting potty training. Very pleased initially that I could just pour it into the toilet. My boy is happily sitting on it now. HOWEVER I can no longer be enthusiastic about his progress, as every single time I have to clean up the mess from the floor or change his pants. It's become a drag and it doesn't seem to be his fault (he is not overly enthusiastic and is in fact average in height and weight for his age..I even wondered whether that mattered). Just ordered the Tippitoes one.
UPDATE: told son to sit further back and now no more mishaps. This was my only gripe and it is solved now. It is so easy to clean!

Been new to potty training I liked the idea of this potty but my child ended up with a sore bottom after sitting on it. Its not the best shape for little bottoms and after trying a few potty's they all seemed to pour exactly the same so I don't believe it is worth the money. The only good element to it is that the front is quite high so good for training boys.

Big, solid, secure potty. The pouring shoot is brilliant, and only under-appreciated until one fails while attempting to empty a more traditionally shaped vessel. We also have (a new, clean) one in the car as a travel-sickness pot; it tucks so nicely under the chin of a miserably ill child!

Got this for potty training my 21 month old son after several 'accidents' using a smaller potty.
This potty is perfectly shaped meaning you don't have to be hovering over your little one every time they need to pee.
I found that smaller potties claiming to be compact were a waste of money and detrimental to the already challenging process of potty training - I would have to position him exactly right to get his 'bits' into the potty and in the rush this often resulted in him missing and peeing over the side of the potty. This seemed to undermine any progress he was making as he was getting there in time but the potty was getting in the way! The Pourty Potty is brilliant and there has been no struggle to get the right position and he now goes and sits on the potty of his own accord with a 'hit' every time. The pouring shape is genius and works as intended but also means you can check your little one has 'been' without making them stand up and risk going on the floor. A must have for all potty training parents!

This was a complete waste of money and I am extremely disappointed. The pouring design is handy, but people have managed without this since the invention of the potty, and this was not the feature we bought it for. The splashguard is no higher than on the basic potty we bought for £1, and the seat is narrower meaning the child is positioned higher so there is even more mess. Further to this, any wee splashed over the front drips down over the handle, so you then have to clean it up before picking it up. It's a completely ridiculous design, and we're going to go back to using a regular potty. If it hadn't been used, I'd be returning it. Unfortunately you don't realise until it's been tried just how bad it is.

I needed a potty as we were starting to consider potty training our little boy. This seemed a simple one but with a clever element to put it above the average potty.

We had it around for a while before commencing training and our boy got quite used to it and likes it. We've actually bought a second one so keep one upstairs and one downstairs.

The spout at the back makes it easy to dispose of the contents. I'm not sure how other pottys would do it as neatly to be honest!!
The front bit is nice and high and the sides are comfortable for him to sit on. A great design.

Love this potty for my son..... We're just starting to train him and my daughter still uses her pink one. No spills/accidents over the side of it and very little to no mess when emptying it in the toilet and cleaning it. Wouldn't use anything else. That bit dearer than your standard potty but both Nan's have one of the standard ones in their houses & I hate using them now compared to these ones. Both children love helping emptying the potty too and this one makes it so easy for them to help.

Would definitely recommend it.

I looked around for a long time for a good potty for my 2.8 year-old son. We had been recommended a (VERY) expensive chair-style potty and I really didn't want to spend that much, but we already had a £1.50 potty at home which was flimsy, small and uncomfortable so I knew I wanted something in between.

Having read all the reviews of this potty I thought it looked like a good buy and I was right. It really is a sturdy plastic with a good thick feel to it. My son will sit on it for a long time without once complaining and he even said himself that it was comfortable. It does leave slight red marks on his bottom when he has sat on it for more than 10 minutes or so but that is to be expected and as the sitting parts are wide, it never digs into his bottom, the marks are just from having sat there for a long time.

But the main success is the pouring system. It really does work beautifully. When the potty arrived (I let him 'choose' which one he wanted on Amazon by giving him a choice of colours!), he was so excited and we tried the pouring out with some water. Very easy to do and then put under the tap to rinse it out.
My son loves pouring it himself and saying bye-bye to the contents before washing and drying his hands. I always get him to come and do this part as it encourages good toilet habits as he then flushes the toilet and makes that connection between the contents and the toilet/bathroom (as opposed to mummy/daddy just taking it away somewhere and bringing the potty back magically clean).

Of course the success of a child potty training quickly and easily depends on lots of things, mainly that they are ready for it, but having a good comfortable and reliable potty must help. I would certainly recommend this to anyone who wants a traditional style potty but one that ticks all the above points.

This is a fantastic potty. My son uses this potty every day and he does have a choice of a few around the flat and this is always his favourite so it is obviously the most comfortable. The pouring ability is a good idea but is not what sold it for me. It's sturdy so is hard for my son to kick over or fall off and it's of a height that means that he's not crouched too low either.
