Upgraded from a duel core to quad core i7, it is like night and day, faster at everything, photo processing, gaming, surfing the web, another 5 years before the next upgrade. no need for higher than 930 unless overclocking to extremes, thank you again Amazon for an other great product at affordable price chastee10

I own this CPU and I went directly to do some overclocking on it. Is very stable even at 3.8 Ghz overclocked. I`m using a Corssair CPU water-cooler.
So if you are a gamer... This CPU is for you then ! Very stable , Very overclock-able ! 10 / 10

Have just installed this in an ASUS P6X58D-E - Intel X58 motherboard, runs like a dream, I can Render full HD video and still use the PC for other stuff without any slowdown. For a little more money the 950 is also worth looking at.

I'm a gamer, An enthusiast. What some call tech-savvy. A couple of months ago I decided to give x58 chipset systems a shot. I made some research around the net, And came down to to options for the CPU, Either this one or the I7 920. When I compared these two, I found out that the 930 has one extra multiplier. Overclockers will probably know what I'm talking about. And I found that both are for about the same price on amazon. So I got the 930 and installed it. It's been running great. Not game -No matter how much of a CPU hog it is- had any problems with it. And so far I had no issues with heat -Where I live, The ambient temp can easily hit the 40 degrees Celsius- I haven't done any OCing yet though. But from what all the other reviews said, This one can hit a stable 4GHz range without any troubles.

Having just spent a couple of weeks selecting and buying components for my new build, I came to the conclusion that the i7 950 is *the* socket 1366 chip to buy now. If you hunt around a bit, you can find it for about £230, and it is superior to the 930 for maybe a couple of pounds more. (I've since reviewed the 950 on Amazon.)

So given that I decided to decline the 930 in favour of the 950, I thought I'd write a mini-review saying as much to direct your attention to the better value CPU.

That said, this is a fine CPU in its own right, and so does score well for me, but I drop 1 star because of the relative merits of its bigger brother.
