Far too slow, and the temperature sensor doesn't seem to work.
on 26 February 2016
I have a gaming PC and my fans were getting old so I gave this a try. From how I understand it, the temperature sensor controls the fan speed in the same way that a PWM pin would. I positioned the sensors (I bought two of these) very close to my CPU and GPU, but when I launched any game the speed only increased by about 10RPM. Although I didn't record exact numbers, I would say on average they fans stayed around 400RPM.
Perhaps for some uses of a computer this would be fine, but for anything that will heat up your components, like gaming, I can't recommend it.
