4.0 out of 5 stars Snappy little camera
It's small. It's compact. It's lightweight. Ideal for any photographer that wants a good little camera to take with them everywhere. It'd fit in any bag or pocket and the quality of pictures is really good. There's enough gadgets on there for the lazy photographer and a few things to fiddle with for someone who doesn't want to just point and shoot. The only thing I...

3.0 out of 5 stars A little disappointing
I had a Nikon Coolpix around 5/6 years ago that was the best little camera I've ever had (apologies I can't remember the model number) - I don't think I took a single blurry picture with it (perfect for such an amateur like myself). So I decided to treat myself to a newer model but I'm afraid this was a disappointment. It works fine, the battery life is good but the...

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Nikon S3000 Digital Camera - Silver (12MP, 4x wide Optical Zoom) 2.7 inch LCD (Electronics)
The only thing I have found I don't like about this camera is that there is nothing to tell you how much battery power you have left. Seeing as you can get a second battery for a minimal cost it's not the end of the world. Truely a great little camera.

3.0 out of 5 stars A little disappointing, 28 July 2010
By
This review is from: Nikon S3000 Digital Camera - Silver (12MP, 4x wide Optical Zoom) 2.7 inch LCD (Electronics)
It works fine, the battery life is good but the picture quality isn't so brilliant. In the words of an amateur, close ups are almost always blurry, despite giving it plenty of time to focus/trying different settings etc. Even my photographer boyfriend gave up with it for closer shots. A good little camera to carry around, with a reasonably cheap price tag, but I wish I'd looked to others on the market as there is so much choice for around the same price. Not a spot on my old coolpix.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bought as a present for my brother, 14 Sep 2010
This review is from: Nikon S3000 Digital Camera - Silver (12MP, 4x wide Optical Zoom) 2.7 inch LCD (Electronics)
I bought this camera as a present for my brother and he is very impressed with it. He has had it for a month now and has had no problems with it. Aparently the zoom and picture quality is excellent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great snappy camera, 1 July 2010
This review is from: Nikon S3000 Digital Camera - Silver (12MP, 4x wide Optical Zoom) 2.7 inch LCD (Electronics)
I had a canon ixus 70 which i absolutely loved, but then lost. I bought the most recent canon ixus to replace it and just did not like it at all, so continued looking. I saw this camera in the adverts for sponsoring Hollyoaks and thought I'd try it as they seemed to be saying it was good for snapping pictures while out with friends, etc.
It's perfect for what I wanted. The pictures are really lovely quality and it has lots of scene settings, and an auto scene selector so it always makes sure you take the best possible picture.
The camera is small and light, thankfully fits in my old canon camera case and is just generally fantastic!
Great price for a fantastic camera. Very pleased!

Amazon Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Nikon S3000 Digital Camera - Silver (12MP, 4x wide Optical Zoom) 2.7 inch LCD (Electronics)
Bought this camera because of its size and weight. I wanted the smallest lightweight camera I could carry around all the time and this camera I carry everywhere in the side pocket of my handbag and I have taken brilliant pictures with it. A couple of times I have looked back on the screen at nightime scene photos and wondered if they were very good but when I have downloaded them onto my computer they have been good. Daytime scene photos really are excellent so are people pictures. The camera is so easy to use and the battery stays charged. Am really pleased with this product. My other camera is a Panasonic DMC TZ3 which is also excellent but too heavy and bulky to carry around everyday in your handbag or pocket.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, 18 Jan 2011
This review is from: Nikon S3000 Digital Camera - Silver (12MP, 4x wide Optical Zoom) 2.7 inch LCD (Electronics)
I purchased this as a present but, unfortunately, I have been asked to return it as the picture quality is inferior to an existing Nikon Coolpix L4 which has fewer than half the number of pixels. Pictures are not as crisp and some are simply not focused. Camera is a major disappointment but I'm glad the recipient told me rather than said a polite thank you and put it away in a drawer as it wasn't the wonderful improvement on the existing camera that I had hoped it would be.

5.0 out of 5 stars A dinasaur in the digital age., 8 Aug 2010
This review is from: Nikon S3000 Digital Camera - Silver (12MP, 4x wide Optical Zoom) 2.7 inch LCD (Electronics)
As an elderly person who has great difficulty in comprehending modern technology I found the Nikon S3000 digital camera relatively easy to use. I still have not got to grips with all the functions yet (they seem daunting) but I have taken some pitures with which I am very pleased.

1.0 out of 5 stars rubbish camera, 17 Oct 2011
This review is from: Nikon S3000 Digital Camera - Silver (12MP, 4x wide Optical Zoom) 2.7 inch LCD (Electronics)
I brought my coolpix s3000 just over a year ago now but would never buy another nikon product. The camera has developed a lense error and the cost to fix it is almost as much as i paid for the camera. This is the second time this has happened to me had a nikon d40x slr camera which integral flash broke. Again the price to fix was excessive. Should have learnt after my first experience that nikon cameras are rubbish.

4.0 out of 5 stars Mini Nikon S300 camera, 6 Jan 2011
This review is from: Nikon S3000 Digital Camera - Silver (12MP, 4x wide Optical Zoom) 2.7 inch LCD (Electronics)
I got this for the Mrs, who had been struggling with our big, clunky Sony camera with all the bells and whistles...
On first reflection the camera is tiny in comparison, at about 3" x 2" x 1/2" and is a bit slippery in the hand when you're trying to be delicate with it. Can be quite fiddly if you've got sausage fingers like mine.
But the screen is crystal clear, and after 5 minutes, the functions are very simple to use. I was trying all sorts with it and was switching in and out of modes in minutes. Have since bought an 8GB memory card to suit and a carry case to protect it. Over all, it's a superb camera that should do everything you need including zooming in and out during shooting video (something my Sony couldn't!!) and easily changing the ISO settings/picture MP settings. Also uses a rechargeable mobile phone type battery which seems to last for ages, as opposed to normal NiMH batteries that die as soon as you look at them!! (Which reminds me, I need to order a spare as back up for concerts....)
I'm giving this a good 4 stars, as the quality is very good, but the fiddly size makes it more of a smaller handed, more delicate persons camera.

5.0 out of 5 stars camera, 27 Mar 2011
This review is from: Nikon S3000 Digital Camera - Silver (12MP, 4x wide Optical Zoom) 2.7 inch LCD (Electronics)
needed a good camera to capture images whilst out on my bike, not too expensive to worry about breaking, light enough to carry in a pocket and decent enough to get pictures and video moments - with plenty of menu options for a range of moments this camera sorts it all for me. pleased so far!!!
