I bought this as i was having to switch between ports far too often so after seeing the price of this i didn't think twice about buying it.

I will start off by saying this is not a powered usb hub, It runs off the power coming from the usb port on your computer and allthough i've not tried it i wouldn't buy this device for connecting hard drives, scanners or anything that requires a bit of extra power. That said though i have only 3 ports on my laptop. I use one for my exteranl hard drive which needs power from the usb port and the same for my i-pod dock as it needs to charge my ipod. This leaves me with one port so i bought this.
I have my Keyboard reciever, 16gb flash drive, optical mouse and belive it or not an xbox 360 controller all plugged into this hub and they all work fine, I thought i was being a little hopefull when i pluged the controller in but to my suprise it worked fine without interupting the other devices.

It's not the most eye pleasing bit of kit but not ugly either, Can't fault it really price is good, Does the job so will just have to see how it holds out in the future, as for now 5 stars all the way.

I have not tried using my hard drive with this yet but to be honest i wouldn't trust plugging anything but a direct usb port for that and i would sugest the same for anyone else, Use it for low power devices and you can't go wrong.

This is a simple bit of kit, but very useful I use it to connect all my perpherals (monitor, keyboard, mouse and printer)to my laptop when in the office, with just one connection. Works perfectly. Simple as that.

Due to the lack of USB ports on my Laptop I decided to purchase an USB Multi Hub expansion adapter - But which one should I buy?

Like a lot of people these day I search for this item online and having looked at a few, I purchased a TRIXES 4 Port USB MULTI HUB EXPANSION SPLITTER in black.

The Expansion pack was exactly what I was looking for, slim, well made and came with a 18 inch lead that plugged directly into a USB port on my computer - turning my single USB port into 4.

I could not have asked for a better service - as the Expansion Splitter came by return post!

Works fine and does exactly what you expect with no fuss. Plug it in and then plug your USB accessories in. Seems to match all items that I have tried.Good value for money.

This hub is not USB 2.0 as stated, it is in fact usb 1.0 and therefore does not support all my external devices

I suppose it depends what you are going to plug into them, but this `unpowered` hub can't seem to support more than one portable hard drive on my system. If you're going to use it with anything requiring real power my advice is to get a powered hub. I gave it away to my brother in the end.

The hub looks ok but it feels cheap, two of the USB ports dont work as they feel too loose, they dont hold the connector at all. A little knock on the device and all the connected devices disconnect.

Refund requested, when something is usually this cheap there is a reason.

I've never written a negative review and never returned an Amazon item. This item, however, is not recommended. The sockets DO NOT grip the plugs and the whole thing feels cheaply made and flimsy. Neither it, nor it's plastic bag, look new. I've sent it straight back for a refund. The Amazon returns procedure is easy to invoke with a returns slip and return postage label being immediately available to print - thank you, Amazon, for that. But less thanks, on this occasion, for a very sub-standard product, which does not live up to the good name Amazon has, in my opinion.

Does exactly what you expect it to do,i have two external hard drives and a printer connected to it with no problems at all,money well spent

Good delivery,liked it so much bought a second for computer,very neat well made,looks great,works great,faster response than my previous hub.
