Henry Mancini and Leslie Bricusse wrote some incredible songs for Blake Edwards' 1982 film 'Victor / Victoria' which are all showcased on this expanded and remastered edition of the film soundtrack. The album also features many of the Mancini cues and themes used in the film but were not released on the soundtrack. Another bonus highlight is the complete recording of Julie Andrews singing 'Cherry Ripe'.
However it's the Mancini / Bricusse songs which shine - 'Le Jazz Hot', 'Crazy World', 'You And Me', 'The Shady Dame From Seville'.....
'Victor / Victoria' was Julie Andrews' shining hour, and this album encapsulates all that magic.

I am a big fan of Robert Preston, Julie Andrews and to have them together in Victor Victoria is such a good combination. I have had the film on DVD for several years. It is rare that I would buy the CD of the film music when I have the DVD. But I made an exception for this CD. It is brilliant.
To have all the songs and the incidental music back to back makes for very enjoyable listening. For fans of the film this CD is worth buying just for the final track: a rehersal version of Robert Preston singing "The shady lady from Seville". This gives a glimpse into the fun that all had whilst making this film.
