5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, a more arty gift I suppose
I don't normally review items but when I read that ridiculous last review I HAD TO MAKE A STAND!

The book is essentially as it was in the tv show, which is great for authenticity. It gives it that wonderful feeling of being a mystical part of the Doctor Who universe, even though it is a toy. Yes, the writing is difficult to read. Blame that on the Doctor. But...

1.0 out of 5 stars What a shame!
I bought this for my 10yr old daughter, who is Dr Who MAD! I was a little disappointed, what a fab idea, but the writing inside the journal is sometimes barely legible, WHAT A SHAME!

But the deciphering of it all is one of the great joys of it! It really is like attempting to peer into the mind of the timelord - complex, mixed up, a lot of it you just won't be able to read, but the joy is in all the little glimmers that you can find.
It's chock-a-block with these scribbled stories & sketches for the most of it, but also has a few blank pages at the back, which you can fill in yourself if you want to (Personally I prefer to leave it how the Doc left it).
The cover is real leather - again, great for the authentic touch. I really can't praise it enough for authenticity!
It also looks good on a bookshelf.

The ring? A nice extra. Quite small (& tacky in comparison, being plastic), may not fit some people, but still very nice to look at.

The book itself seems to be falling apart- it crackles dangerously when you attempt to read it.

And I do mean "attempt". The words are a frenzied scrawl which is fine-- if it hadnt been printed in such low dpi. Cute series memento with a tacky plastic ring.

The book itself is also extremely small-- the size of an adult's hand. Not really worth the price even if you or your child is a fan.
