Received today, very well packaged and speedily sent. I had to contact the seller as I could not figure how to attach the protector, the seller replied almost immediately with very helpful instructions;

"we suspect that you have not removed the original viewfinder eyepiece cup?". You suspected right!, I had not!. :(

"You should remove the original viewfinder eyepiece cup and *attach the LCD protector via the eyepiece attachment and then the original viewfinder eyepiece cup can be put back onto the LCD protector".

Result; A perfectly fitting LCD screen protector for the Nikon D40!.

I did not want a 'glue on' glass protector, I was not comfortable with a thin/brittle piece of glass being so close to the screen or 'glue' on the camera body. As I prefer to use the viewfinder, rather than the LCD, I did not mind that the screen in the sellers image looked, so could be, slightly opaque but it is not, it is CLEAR and easy to see through. This is a great design and one that Nikon should have offered as a D40 accessory, but it didn't so some bright spark plugged the gap with a simple but very effective design, well done that designer!.

*The protector slides down over the viewfinder eyepiece.

I always used the ordinary protective film LCD cover for my little D40 but they never went on well without dust or air bubbles. When I seen this I decided to give it a try and I must say I'm very happy with it.It's very easy to put on as you just remove the rubber eyepiece on the viewfinder and clip this on then replace the rubber. It then looks like the cover that clips onto the D90 exactly like the picture.Makes you appreciate the person who took the time to make it.

This item took a little time to arrive, it actually came from Belgium via post. Fitting was ease, just remove the rubber pad on the eye piece and slide the protector into the slot and replace the rubber eye pad.

Beware if you wear glasses.

The protector when fitted to my Nikon took my eye too far away from the camera (with my glasses on).
Hence I could not see though all the viewfinder to its edges.

Brilliant item otherwise.

It was ok in the beginning. After about 1 month, it started to get loose and fall all the time. I eventually lost it as it wouldn't stop on the camera. It's cheap, but not if it will only endure 1 month.
