5.0 out of 5 stars Merciful Release
This is jaw dropping value for 5 jaw dropping albums (ok, so two of them are compilations, but they are awesome compilations). The Sisters were and are one of the best goth rock bands on the planet, and anyone who tells you differently is either an idiot, or wasn't there. Their songs are powerful, theatrical, intense and irresistable. Lyrically they are intelligent,...

1.0 out of 5 stars A cynical exploitation
The music is fantastic of course, but otherwise you shouldn't buy this unless you either like rubbish box sets or you desperately need copies of Some Girls and Overbombing. Lead man Andrew Eldritch has always said that he didn't mind being exploited by his record company so long as he was exploited competently, but this isn't it. From the cheap and nasty box, through...

5.0 out of 5 stars Merciful Release, 28 Mar 2011

This is jaw dropping value for 5 jaw dropping albums (ok, so two of them are compilations, but they are awesome compilations). The Sisters were and are one of the best goth rock bands on the planet, and anyone who tells you differently is either an idiot, or wasn't there. Their songs are powerful, theatrical, intense and irresistable. Lyrically they are intelligent, uncompromising and funnier than you probably think, with a dark majesty that knocks your socks off.

This collection is pretty much everything (barring some live stuff and some B sides - and it's a shame that stuff like their inspired cover of Dolly Parton's "Jolene" is absent, for example)

You need to have these albums in your collection, and this is a great way to get them. JUST BRILLIANT.

4.0 out of 5 stars SOLID COLLECTION - EXCELLENT VALUE, 3 Feb 2011

If you are a die hard 'Sisters' fan, you may be disappointed by the packaging and lack of sleeve notes - these are five albums packaged in cardboard sleeves (as you would find in your sunday paper), housed in a neat box. For me, this represented fabulous value and an easy way of picking up these works at a great price. The 'prize' here is the fifth CD 'Some Girls...' which pulls together the rarer material which is often hard to find. 'Overbombing' still remains a bombastic gem. Great stuff!

5.0 out of 5 stars Grey Haired Goths, 26 Oct 2012

Proof that old Goths don't die - they just get grey around the temples (of love ??). Always loved the Sisters since watching them back in the early 80's and was delighted to find this compilation covering early and late offerings.
Some have complained about the weak packaging and I would agree to a limited degree. I purchased the CDs purley to copy in to digital storage format for iPod use and this has been done. They now take up very limited space in my collection which is not a bad thing.

This is a cheap and cheerful package of Sisters recordings. There are 5 CD's in very basic packing. They are however exceptionally good value.

The collection includes the fantastic early material of the Sisters which is not always that easy to come by - it isn't on iTunes. The pack is worth the price just for the Some Girls Wander by Mistake collection. The definition of Goth and tracks I can still listen to again and again.

This takes far less room on my CD shelf than the plastic box CD realeases this set contains.Good value especially as 2 were double albums and are nearly 80 minutes long.

Again, a great value compilation for fans. None of the albums are remastered, but they all retain the raw goth power of the TSOM`s unique sound.

It's a shame that the package comes in flimsy cardboard sleeves which are packed in to a small box.
This does not, however detract from the quality music contained within them.
I am particularly impressed with "A Slight Case of Overbombing" where there are some excellent longer versions of the classic songs-my favourite is Temple of Love featuring Ofra Haza.
This is a purchase which will get played again and again.

I havn'e managed to listen to them all yet but come on 5 LP's for 11 quid or so. you cant really go wrong unless you want the words or to read the books that usually come with them. you just get the discs each one in a cardboard sleave.

Classic Goth...so if you come from a time where men had long black polished nails and wore eye-liner or still do, you're bound to enjoy these. I know I did and although the black hair has lightened up with age, the dark heart remains inside somewhere lol. So sit back and recall or learn from darker times...brilliant.

This is a good buy, and it's really worth the money, and a few more words that are required. Yep!
