5.0 out of 5 stars Buy this Bell
It is a bell that works and with the well designed mounting can be put nearly anywhere on a bike. A lot of the cheap bells you find have mounts that are too small for modern bars and stems. This one fits firmly on fat bars and stems and can be angled too. The ring it makes is loud enough too, which is a bonus. Why aren't more bells designed like this?

5.0 out of 5 stars It works like it is supposed to, 16 Oct 2011

Remember this is just a bell. The good thing, is that it works perfectly doing what it is supposed to do.

I agree with the other member which says it isn't the loudest bell, but it really is enough without being annoying (it sounds like PLIIIIIIING :P). It catches people's attention easily.

And being just a bell, it has a few bonuses. It's small, well designed and looks pretty much durable. It's easily detached but it won't fall while attached. Just don't forget to remove it if you leave your bike unattended. Its mounting system is also very good, you can put it anywhere. It's not on the picture, but it comes with a small rubber strap to install between the mount and your handlebar. This will prevent the bell from rotating, it will be really secured to the handlebar!

Maybe you can find cheaper bells, but I think this one has a good price for its quality. You won't regret buying it.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's a bell!, 20 Nov 2011

Bells aren't trendy for road bikes but a necessity, especially when commuting. This has a flexible fitting so is versatile and the bell can be removed from the mount with ease (so don't forget to remove it or someone else will). The "ding" is fine and whilst I have not had it that long so cannot comment on its durability, it is hardly expensive. The black bell is "stealthy" on black bars/tape so even the fashion conscious shouldn't be too concerned.

4.0 out of 5 stars Loud enough for off road only, 7 Oct 2013

I am a regular MTB cyclist and I ride off and on road.
This bell is perfect for towpath or footpath cycling where you have pedestrians in front with their backs turned and you wish to get by.
Coughing is a pain in the throat so this bell does the job for you perfectly.

Its no good for traffic however as it gets drowned out by road noise. I find yelling at motorists is much more satisfying.

the only downside to this bell is the mounting method, there is a screw turn type affair which tightens up on the grooved strap you can see.
This has a habit of coming loose so I haven't cut the excess off for fear of it coming loose enough to detach from the bike.

It probably needs a spot of glue or similar to stop the loosening action through vibration.

Otherwise a "sound" investment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stylish design, 11 Dec 2013

This is stylish, takes up little space, easy to fit and very versatile on where you can fit it. It's not the loudest bell you will hear, but still effective. Unfortunately it is loud enough to spook horses when they occupy the width of the road (I only used it once in this case to notify my presence and will not use it again for this).

Easy to install... once you work out that you can rotate the lever separately to the flex bracket... and is discreet enough for even the most minimalist of road bikes' handlebars.

However, it basically just goes 'ping' when you flip the lever... so while it may be loud enough to attract the attention of 'near-'full-volume-iPod' pedestrians, it might take a few furiously rapid 'thumbings' to make... say, a London bus or heavy goods vehicle driver take notice.

If you don't expect too much more than that, I recommend it.
