This is by far the best book available on complexity; it does an excellent job of illuminating the nature of the issue and then offering sustainable solutions. It's very action-oriented, with an interesting approach for quantifying the cost of complexity and a good section on specific strategies for taking out complexity costs irrespective of whether they are encountered in product or service driven environments.

Parts of it are a challenging read, but the authors clearly know their stuff and they've decided to treat the reader like an adult. If you're serious about going after the problem and obtaining a genuine understanding of the issues, this is a great resource.
