4.0 out of 5 stars Retro LP Player
This is a wonderful unit . It works well and has the bonus of being able to record LP's for use on my Phone and in the car.
Would have been an improvement to have an internal FM ariel but still receives radio signals well.
It does everything we want but is a little expensive overall for what you get

1.0 out of 5 stars LOOKS GREAT BUT POORLY MADE
After researching the Roxy 1, 2 and 3 music system series and reading all positive and negative reviews, I decided to take the plunge and bought the Roxy 3 as a gift for a loved one from a seller on Amazon. It looks great but you soon realise how cheaply made this product is...which is a huge disappointment given the price this is selling for (£139 to £169 depending...

This review is from: 60's style Nostalgic Retro Music Centre NEW Mk 3: Aux In 3.5mm jack (play MP3 players, iPods, iPhones, iPads etc) - CD Player - Encode USB (MP3 RECORDING via USB Port & SD Memory Card Slot) Record Deck Turntable - Radio - Steepletone Roxy 3 Mk III (Black) (Electronics)
After researching the Roxy 1, 2 and 3 music system series and reading all positive and negative reviews, I decided to take the plunge and bought the Roxy 3 as a gift for a loved one from a seller on Amazon. It looks great but you soon realise how cheaply made this product is...which is a huge disappointment given the price this is selling for (£139 to £169 depending where you buy this). The turntable is made out of very cheap plastic as well as the needle arm etc. Worse, it seems to turn unbalanced so your lps play unevenly so the bottom side of the record scratches against part of the player itself. Once this happened, we just stopped playing any lps for fear of getting them scratched! The needle arm doesn't return automatically when the lp is finished and when recording lps to USB or SD card, the tracks are not automatically separated so you have to do this yourself manually by stopping and starting recording after each track. The sound quality from the speakers is not great but I don't have an issue with that too much as I had read reviews that echoed this and was prepared for the sound to be so-so. The cd player tray doesn't seem to stable when it opens and closes.Even the decal/sticker for the cd tray was stuck on unevenly so it is crooked! It is so annoying as it seems not much attention was paid to details or in general, the quality in the production of this item. After use of less than 7 days, the cd player as well as the USB and SD ports stopped working altogether. I was not able to get a refund for the defective item but the Amazon seller was very professional and sent a replacement. We are now crossing our fingers hoping the system will work given all the problems we experienced. Overall, this is a UK -made product so you would think there would be some pride in the quality. It's a real shame as the player actually looks nice. If I had bought this item for £79, all of the problems would be more palattable but for the price it is selling for, it's not worth it. I guess the huge issue is that record players these days are a niche item and there isn't much choice in the market. If I could do it all over again, I would have bought a bog standard record player without all the extras for a fraction of the cost.Lastly, all radio broadcasts will be switched to digital soon so we are already wondering how long it will be before the Roxy 3 fails to pick up any signals since it has your standard analog radio on the unit.

When playing larger 33 vinyl, the record rubs on the edge of the centre. The turntable needs to be raised or thicker a turntable mat provided by the manufacturer. Unfortunately have been moving so have only just realised this.

This is great, CD and radio are great but records are better with external speakers and a tip, put 2p piece on arm for old LPs, it looks great wow for £49 from Amazon warehouse I got a real bargain.

Looks good, but very cheaply made. I only tried the turntable functiion which was unbalanced and totally unusable. Didn't try the other functions. Thankly returned within a day and quick refund.
