Nope never played Squash. But 20 odd years ago after trying many other trainers I found these, I live in them, I go through a pair every 18 months, I buy 3 pairs at a time.

Why ? - because they are the only shoes which stop me turning my ankles over; in my youth, I'd spend 3-6 weeks every year with one or the other of my feet bound up after twisting ankles, and pulled ligaments. Running for a bus, stepping off a kerb. I guess it's the thin super sticky sole on these, somehow they give me feedback that I'm about fall, it's a question of confidence.

The uppers flex and shape to my feet, the laces work very well, they aren't bulky, they're cost effective and thanks be the design remains absolutely the same..

They are very nice when driving cars, again feedback, no extraneous padding so great feel of the pedal, not too wide. Also, great in airports and planes when you're under enough stress, flooring changes, escalators, security checks, feet expanding at altitude.

The other plus is the 'half' sizes, which means I get exactly the right size. I know they are man-made materials, I wear thick 85% cotton white sports socks with them for comfort, it works for me.

It's a truly classic design, don't go changing them Hi-Tec.

I've just ordered another pair of these bad boys as I have worn my first pair for nearly 2 years straight, not just for the copious amount of squash I play, but, due to their extreme comfort, I wear these shoes in almost every situation: Work, Barbeques, Tennis, Box Socials, Line Dance Lessons... That's not all! Board Meetings, Bodyboarding, Boarding up derelict houses, Lounging and most importantly Squashing.

These shoes look amazing, feel amazing and you actually can't loose a game of squash whilst wearing them (unless your opponent has them also)

Buy a pair. Buy two. Seriously. Do it.

I have an older pair of these shoes and have been using them regularly for cycle commuting for about 5 years. The soles have excellent low wear properties compared to other "trainers" I have tried and I don't feel like going for specialist cycling shoes given their cost...

Very good buy from Amazon. Have used these for fencing and badminton and are good for both, long lasting and supple. Will buy these again.

My boyfriend has trouble finding comfortable trainers, as he is Size 12 very wide fitting. These trainers
fitted him perfectly. He also has arthritus and the
softness of the material used in these trainers is great and breathable to keep his feet cool.

They are good value for money too.! What more do you want. Excellant !

I'm looking at buying my fourth pair of these, and really, you can't give higher praise.

Initially, I bought them solely for squash, but now they are my Crossfit shoes. The solid and light-weight construction means that they're ideal for squash, running, and even weight-lifting (where cushioned shoes give when doing moderately heavy Cleans, Snatches, Squats or Deadlifts.) For running, the lack of cushioning encourages you to adopt a smoother, lower-impact style, which will reduce the risk of injury.

I wouldn't necessarily recommend them for tennis, which would be one sport where cushioning might be valuable.

Have had these for a month and played squash twice a weeek. No signs of premature wear and look to be well constructed. Have used them in the gym on the treadmill and have been comfortable throughout. Good value all rounder which i can recommend

I have owned a couple of pairs of this shoe, initally drawn to them by the great budget price.

After a few months playing 1-2 matches a week the rubber heel started to come away from the sole of the shoe, ending in a dramatic shoe crumbling rally! Until this point they had served me very well, so I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and buy a further pair.

Perhaps I shouldnt have been surprised when the same thing happened a couple of months later.

I don't like to knock these shoes, you see a lot of squash players wearing them and they are a reasonable price. However I feel I was quite lucky not to get injured on both occasions the shoes fell apart, it's way too easy to bust an ankle.

For that reason, Hi-tech, I'm out.

I'd have to say if you play serious and/or competitive squash (i.e. even competitively against friends) - AVOID.

These trainers might not win any style awards, but they do what is needed. I've been playing with them for a couple of months now and they're great.

They're more responsive than the running shoes I was previously using and the grips on them ensure I'm not slipping about on the court.

Playing in these and a pair of specialised running socks will keep your feet in good shape.

I purchased a pair of these squash shoes twelve years ago and they served me extremely well, playing three or four matches a week. Eventually they wore out so I decided to buy a new pair, also recommending them to friend a couple of months ago. Within eight months mine had split by the the toe part of the shoe, and only playing one match a week, my friends shoes had the same problem but after only three months.

If you're serious about your squash avoid these shoes.
