Wow! This album is like having a hot bath with your favourite book and a cadbury's flake. Buy it, but make sure you get the 14 track version with 'She's always a Woman' and the beautiful 'Let's start again.'Fyfe Dangerfield deserves to be BIG.

Wow. What a great album. Came across this album having searched for the singer of the soundtrack to the John Lewis ad. The album is packed full of great songs, just make sure you buy/download the 14 track version or you'll be missing out.

Sometimes I despair when I buy a CD and only one or two tracks actually stand out. I blame the MP3 generation and the ease of picking off one or two songs from an artist. So it's with delight that I listened to this album, and then listened again, and again, and found myself humming the catchy refrains and beautifully simple lyrics that make Fly Yellow Moon what I would call a 'proper album'. Fyfe Dangerfield's voice is smooth and earnest, reminiscent of a mellow Jarvis Cocker. So buy the album, go home, turn the lights off, play this and enjoy - put the book and the computer away so that you can give this all your attention - it's earned it in my opinion.

Beware this DOES NOT have all the songs on it - so check before you buy - this had only 10 songs on it and the exactly same album BUT new version which is what I thought I had purchased has 14 songs.

'Fly Yellow Moon', indie-band Guillemot's founder Fyfe Dangerfield's debut album is one of the most instantly engaging that I have heard in a long time. I bought it primarily for the hit single, 'She's Always A Woman', a cover of the Billy Joel classic, which was used in the John Lewis television adverts a few years ago, and it's appearance on a compilation ('My Songs 2014') that I recently purchased, helped to jog my memory of it's existence. However, as soon as I heard the excellent, self-penned (the first of nine) opener, 'When You Walk In The Room', I found myself playing it over-and-over before I even thought about listening to the rest of the album, this indie-rock song and Fyles' vocals grabbed me from the very first listen.

Fast becoming one of my most played albums, I think Fyfe has a terrific voice, and 'Fly Yellow Moon' is packed with great, diverse, intelligently written songs. I would have been happy with just 'She's Always A Woman', and a couple of decent tracks on board, but I do like all of them. 'Livewire' is a lovely ballad, the melancholy 'Firebrand' is a nice and mellow tune, and the superb, dark 'Faster Than The Setting Sun', a single that surprisingly failed to chart, is a real standout.

An all around fantastic musician, please don't leave it as long as I did, buy this addictive and rounded album today.

I must admit i had never heard of fyfe and bought this album on the strength of good reviews and hearing the brilliant faster than the setting sun on the radio .

money well spent some brilliant tracks on here , can,t stop playing this cd most of the tracks get stuck in your head , i love the diversity of the material too , up tempo and mellow and really good original song writing , at times the sound shifts between scott walker , beatles , nick drake , its very well put together , excellent music .
