5.0 out of 5 stars Night Probe
An exciting story that starts with a rail crash and a sinking of a ship in 1914. There is a passenger on the train and one on the ship who are carrying copies of an important document, which involves Canada, USA and Great Britain. The story moves to 1989 and unfolds with murder, chasing a copy of the lost documents that would bring governments down. All the excitment...

3.0 out of 5 stars Improbable but entertaining
Dirk Pitt once more manages to find himself in the midst of aquatic adventure. As usual, this Cussler yarn is a standalone book, so can be read at any point. The tale itself weaves political upheaval around the search for two sunken treasures. Unfortunately, the plot requires a rather large leap of faith and this is compounded by stereotypical characters. That said, if you are prepared to suspend your disbelief, Night Probe has all the boxes checked that make an adventure book interesting. Although you'll want to see this one through once you've started it, there are plenty of better Cussler books you could read instead, most of which are smarter and more intriguing.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cheesy but enjoyable nonsense, 10 Sep 2004
This review is from: Night Probe! (Paperback)
Clive Cusslers Dirk Pitt novels are amongst the trashiest books I've ever read. The characters are right out of a comic book. Dirk Pitt (hilarious name) is tall dark and handsome and has every textbook hero attribute from his even white teeth to his piercing eyes etc. The story is as unbelievable as the characters. BUT...it's an entertaining read. Good airport fodder. Think of it like a dumbed-down Wilber Smith.

5.0 out of 5 stars Almost two mysteries in one, 27 Jun 2014

Classic Cussler – a fast moving plot that keeps you turning the pages. A clever structure to the story keeps you guessing until the end.

As always a great story I hope to read many more in the future. I wish there were a few more made into films and they followed the book properly

3.0 out of 5 stars Not the normal Cussler standard, 27 Feb 2014
This review is from: Night Probe! (Dirk Pitt Adventure) (Kindle Edition)
This novel seems to dart about from one place to another and how it all ties up remains to be seen
does not meet the usual Cussler adventurous standards

As usual Clive Cuser does it agai. A brilliant Dirk Pit novel. How he does it I will never know. The book down loaded on to my Kindle with no hassle. If you don't have a kindle I'd get one it's so much easier. But the books brilliant. Kindle does, keep the cost of books down and no need to.visit the book shop.
