'Nothing's Gonna Stop Me Now - The Greatest Hits...And More' really highlights the magnificent career of Samantha Fox, and is a great reminder of all the great hits she has given us.

Naturally quite a few of the songs on this CD (in fact 11 of the 20 tracks on disc 1) are the same as Samantha's previous official greatest hits package (Greatest Hits - 1992). It contains all the biggest hits from that album, including many iconic numbers, such as 'Touch Me (I Want Your Body)', 'Nothing's Gonna Stop Me Now', 'Do Ya Do Ya (Wanna Please Me)' and 'Naughty Girls (Need Love Too)'.

The rest of the album consist of remixes of some of these songs as well previously unreleased tracks recorded with Stock Aitken Waterman. This is the first time these songs have been together on one disc - and so, this alone is a very good reason to buy this album.

Unfortunately lower charting singles like '(Hurt Me! Hurt Me!) But The Pants Stay On', 'Let Me Be Free', 'All I Wanna Do...', 'Spirit Of America' and 'Just One Night' to name a few, are completely absent from this compilation, thus only 4 stars. On the positive side we get 'I'm All You Need' and 'True Devotion' which were not featured on the previous collection, two of Sam's best ever singles in my opinion.

I would still recommend `Nothing's Gonna Stop Me Now` to any music fan, as it is a clear explanation of why Samantha Fox was one of the most successful singers on both sides of the Atlantic in the 80s. A true pop star!

I`ve been a Samantha Fox fan since she took up singing way back in the 1980s & I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of her singing voice.I was also surprised to find that this is a double CD,so extremely good value for money.Disc 1 is my favourite as it has all her hits on it,all of which are great.I don`t like disc 2 quite so much as it has a lot of remixes, which to be perfectly honest,I am not a fan of,hence the 4 stars, however there are one or two tracks in there that are quite good.Overall,I like it,just a shame about those remixes(sorry Stock Aitken & Waterman).

nicely surprised that she has such catalog of music here ; but she is also a visual persona - so why no dvd combo to complete the experience ( see that 'bananarama' has at least three such combos featured on amazon listings) ; maybe we may still get a dvd of her in performance,,,

Sam Fox is a cultural icon and worldwide phenomenon, singer songwriter, actress and occasional lesbian. This 2 disc greatest hits collection comprising 33 tracks have acted as the musical landscape for the world over and is long overdue.

Sam Fox found fame in the early 80's as a topless Page 3 model for The Sun newspaper joining the ranks of Linda Lusardi, Jo Guest and Anne Widdicombe. International fame soon followed however Sam harbored a dark secret that could potentially wreck her burgeoning career. Born Samuel Winston Fox, Sam was a pre-op transsexual and had fathered 2 children with TV weathergirl , Wincey Willis. Yet this secret would remain intact for a further 10 years whilst Sam concentrated on her pop career. Having co-wrote `Do They Know Its Christmas?' with Bob Geldof and Henry Kelly, Sam was quick to secure her own record deal. She hit immediate pay dirt with her signature song `Touch Me' which was a smash hit in residential homes, category `A' Prisons and has since become the 7th most requested songs at funerals in the UK. Quick to follow up on `Touch Me's success, the hits followed thick and fast, `Do Ya Do Ya' (initially offered to but turned down by alternative comedians `Cannon & Ball'), `I'm All You Need' (a duet with `Zammo' from Grange Hill) and `Naughty Girls (Need Love To)' the video for which depicted Sam mud wrestling with several cast members of comedy classic `The Desmonds' was banned by MTV. Sam was by now unstoppable and to solidify this success came the pop juggernaut `Nothing's Gonna Stop Me Now', the fruits of her sessions with used car salesmen Stock Aitken and Waterman.

For Sam, the 80's sped by at an alarming rate, acting roles followed with her credits including `Police Academy 5: Assignment Miami Beach', the title role in `Howard The Duck' and her defining role as a corpse in bawdy hospital farce `Casualty'. It's a little known fact that Sam auditioned for the lead role in `The Colour Purple', she even took up voice coaching lessons from 1 of the key actors in the Lilt adverts, but it was felt that her heavy Jamaican / Cockney accent and her desire to `black-up' for the role were by now past their sell by date and the role went to buck teethed nun impersonator, Whoopi Goldberg.

10 years later saw Sam's secret past was finally outed to the world. Unable to pay blackmailers anymore (headed by `Blockbusters' Bob Holness) she poured her heart out to the News of The World. What followed was Sam's shock early retirement from show business as the back lash against her had begun. Still in the entertainment industry, Sam bought a part share in a Waltzer ride and found happiness laboring on fairgrounds at some of England's more down market coast lines.

A further 10 years would pass before Sam would be catapulted back into the hearts and minds of the nation. Her wedding photo's to TV funny man Barry Chuckle ignited a fierce bidding war. She then went on to star in `I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here' with 2 even bigger tits than her own; camp non entities and shame of Scotland; Colin & Justin, and with her full sex change operation scheduled for early 2011 it looks like a good year for Sam Fox!
