To be fair, we've only persevered through the first four episodes, so maybe it does become more cheerful. But oh dear, how depressing so far! Admittedly, cleverly scripted, beautifully acted and well directed. I can't fault the presentation. But the first episode is about the break up of a marriage. The second about a pensioner contemplating suicide. The third about a man wrongly acccused of being a flasher. The fourth is about the descent of a promising young footballer into drugs, to the despair of his blind father!
At this point I don't think I could face any further doom and gloom! Maybe this series should be a training video for the Samaritans? If you can endure this then you can face all that life can throw at you!
But no complaints about the quality - for its genre, it's right up there.
