3.0 out of 5 stars The Bards diary
I like Simon Armitage and this is a good book of events in his life over a period of time. Its amusing in parts but quite a scattergun of stories. Worth a read .

2.0 out of 5 stars It may be funny for a Northerner, 22 July 1999

This review is from: All Points North (Paperback)
Unfortunately, I had not heard of Simon Armitage, and have little knowledge of things Northern, which left me unable to grasp many of the jokes & missed many of the funny points. I struggled til halfway through & have to admit I gave up. I had great hopes for this book, since it had been recommended to me as a "laugh out loud" book!
