These really work and do the job. Just had some 5" and 7.5" added to the House. Have had some for 10 years.
A great simple product that actively ventilates without any security problems.
No windows to be left open. No security problems now.

NB larger size is preferable if not in your face. 90% more air! Lots of air! A lot more air than Trickle Vents.
I have small panes of glass 8.5" wide so glazier fitted it to a new glass and then
put this in. Fitting it to an existing pane would likely crack glass.
(Also available vents for double glazing. You need to buy a new DG window pane and the DG factory fits it.(

Problem is they get dirty and after 2-3 years its difficult to unscrew for cleaning. They can look very naff but at the back of a house who cares?
So leave them or replace. They look great new.
Also spinning piece can break off after a few years... not a big deal for the price. Just replace! They still work. I have never used the Stormguard. APPARENTLY IT DOES NOT Keep dirt away or stop spinner breaking.

Have just received this item and it is fab. Went to a local supplier to ask about getting vent like these and they were twice the price. Some suppliers didnt even know what we were talking about. Finally a solution to venting an old property with fixed windows in places. Great quality, would recommend the storm shield.

This item is good but must be oiled or the bearings will not last long, cleaning is required, this means taking it apart
and the screws need to be replaced often as they corrode. A storm guard is good as this keeps the rain from being
blown in past the vent.

Expensive for what is after all a bit of plastic but I needed this to replace one that had been damaged. Disappointingly it does rattle when the fan blade turns which on the old one I thought was due to it being broken - but no....

We were unable to fit an electric ventilator so chose this as an alternative. It works well and helps to keep the kitchen ventilated and free of condensation
