First couple of plays I sort of liked this CD, but felt frustrated by the slow burn of much of it, I wanted more "action" more chance for the soloists to cut loose. As a jazz fan who crossed over via 70's fusion this is probably a predictable reaction. Several plays later this became a fixture in the car, the slow considered build up to most tracks as much appreciated as the livelier moments. It took a bit of patience but I feel well rewarded. The last album (many years ago)to follow a similar course in my affections was "In a Silent Way"! By the way, this album kicks off a bit more often.

Another great album, featuring not only Stuart's ethereal soundscapes and guitar wizardy, but also the likes of Ian Dixon and Les Chisnall and a host of other great players.
This album has bite and attitude as well as intelligence and thoughtfulness.
