Pretty good if you plan installing in a nuclear-proof bunker,

If you have a solid state drive, a passively cooled CPU and a fanless DC power supply installed into a bomb-proof titanium chassis and dropped from the top of the Eiffel Tower then I guess you need one of these to keep your drive in place when your unit hits the concrete.
4 stars because the screws aren't all in the right place, but it you are determined to secure a light-weight SSD with 4 screws I guess you should consider carbon-bonding all the components and suspending them in a non-conductive gel before slamming a fully laiden train into your unit at 200mph. Otherwise a simple plastic mount would serve just as well and you can invest the difference in beer. (nice item though)

Not for some cases,

It is a good caddy with quite thick aluminium used but it will only mount in the drive bay using the screws on the side. If you have a case which uses rails for quick removal of hard drives it might not be usable!

Good piece of kit, but check your case,

As others have said, this is a quality bit of kit, but in order to fit it into my Silverstone TJ-09 case drive cages I had to take a hacksaw to a couple of the corners.

A bit limited in use,

I bought this mounting kit in the hope that it would fit into a 3.5 inch drive bay, it didn't!! I have the hot swap drive bays and I think mine are slightly wider than standard, they have cages which you sit the DVD drive in and then clip this into the bay, it's my own fault really and didn't think it was worth returning. Im using it now in the base of my tower with some padded adhesive strips underneath. The kit is excellent quality for the price though, Ive got a clear side window on the tower and it looks great sat where it is, all in all I wouldnt reccommend buying this if you want to fit it in a drive bay but if you want to use it like I have it's pretty good, Ive knocked it down one star because of the lack of information

Good?,

It does not fit very well with C300 with the thermal material on it. If you are patient, you can fit it but it's a long work. It fits fine if you remove the thermal material, but then, means there is less heat transfer.

If the HDD Cage in Your Case uses Rails Beware,
This review is from: Akasa AK-MX010 SSD and HDD Mounting Kit (Personal Computers)
This item is everything it is said to be: metallic, well-made, sturdy, compact. Just one problem - its screw-holes for fitting into the cage are set exactly like the ones on a 2.5" hard-disk and therefore this item can only be used in hard-disk cages that use screws and NOT ones that have a `screwless' rail system (like the one I have in my midi-tower Antec 300). Consequently, I cannot use this item and it's really a shame that they don't mention this fact in the specs. For me it's a complete write-off.

Built well but not enough holes,

Product arrived in good time. Brought for my CrucialM4 128gb SSD. Firstly the rubber heat mat that you stick down to the tray is crap as every time I tried to slot the drive into place the mat would just get in the way as it would not fit properly and just ended up getting in the way so threw that away. Secondly the tray itself is great, strong and sturdy but not enough holes! I have an Antec 1200 case and the holes on the drive cases did not match up to the holes on the tray so I had to drill some new ones. Once it was setup I've had no problems, but I'm sure there a better and less hassle free SSD trays available.

Not quite straightforward for SSDs,

This is a nice solidly made item.
The screws matched perfectly the holes in my two SSDs though it seems, from reviews, here and elsewhere, that not all drives are exactly the same or perhaps there is a manufacturing quality issue with these mounts. One issue that did leave me scratching my head is that despite the claim of the description it is not possible (or at least not sensible) to use this mount in the way you might expect for 2 SSDs. It seems to assume an IDE-type connection. So here are a few points: 1. You have to mount the SSDs opposite ways around else the connections cannot be attached due to the bulk of standard type SATA power and data connectors. Maybe you could force them on but I was not going to try it! 2. If you use the above arrangement, make sure that there is enough clearance to accommodate the front-facing power and data cables (if this applies to the type of case you have). If there is not enough clearance there is a risk of damaging the drive's power or data connector when the cables are flexed against the front panel. 3. For the front-facing SATA power connector I found it best to use a SATA-Molex convertor. SATA power wires are not very flexible and a fairly tight bend is needed to route the wire around the side of the SSD. This arrangement avoids putting excessive stress on the drive's rather delicate SATA connectors. (This issue would apply equally to standard hard drives). 4. The supplied thermal pad may be redundant for SSDs. My two SSDs (only 64Gb ones) only get slightly warm. NB. I believe that some utilities that give you information on HDD temperature are not applicable here. Obviously I do not know the actual internal temperature of the SSDs but they are cool on the surface and I'm happy to go with that. 5. If you do try to use the thermal pad you may have a struggle to force the bottom SSD into the mount.

Produkt otrzymałem trochę wczeaeniej ni¿ szacowano. Precyzyjna konstrukcja i dobra jakoaeć. W zestawie wkręty mocujące. Odrobinę za wysoka cena, jak na niedu¿y kawałek aluminium.

Does what it says on the tin, but thermal mat doesn't fit with the HDD as well,

Works as intended, although the thermal mat prevents the HDD sliding in and they both don't fit together however if just taken out, the 2.5" HDD fits snug without it.
