A Sense of Being There, 14 Sep 2009
This review is from: New Zealand - bitten by the travel bug - a different kind of travel film. North and South Island on two DVDs. (DVD)
We watched both films in preparation for our trip to New Zealand, and were really inspired. Great footage, all the highlights, and some unusual places off the beaten track. You get a different perspective than from the standard travel literature, and the light narative style gives the films an entertaining touch. We are planning a 6 week trip to New Zealand, and the films have helped us to decide on numerous places we definatley wish to visit, as well as a couple that we can happily miss out on. All in all, two new films that are well worth seeing! We are now looking forward to our trip to New Zealand more than ever.

New Zealand-bitten by the travel bug- a different kind of travel film, 22 Mar 2010
This review is from: New Zealand - bitten by the travel bug - a different kind of travel film. North and South Island on two DVDs. (DVD)
Both Dvds are excellently researched and produced. They are both informative and entertaining. They manage to give the right level of travel details of what each Island has to offer, and if you have not been to New Zealand before, then you will find these DVDs will "wet your appetitie". If you have been before, then these DVDs will allow you to remember all those wonderful places that you visited. They are excellent value for money, so I strongly recommend that you buy these superb guides. I rate this 5 Stars out of 5 Stars,so please ignore the 1 Star shown above.....I cannot find a way to change it ot 5 Stars!!!

Delightful and unique!, 11 Nov 2009
This review is from: New Zealand - bitten by the travel bug - a different kind of travel film. North and South Island on two DVDs. (DVD)
Little gem! I was given these DVDs by a friend who was trying to convince me to take a trip to New Zealand with her. She chose well - these cracking films made me want to book my flight straight away. They were totally not what I was expecting - they have a lovely quirky style, and really give you a feel for the place. The scenery is fantastic, and they cover all kinds of stuff I would never have thought of. There are loads of real insider tips, not just the usual stuff, and it also gave us a good idea of what we don't mind giving a miss - really helpful since we're only planning a three-week trip. Brilliant stuff!

Fond Memories, 8 Mar 2010
This review is from: New Zealand - bitten by the travel bug - a different kind of travel film. North and South Island on two DVDs. (DVD)
This is very good! We spent a month driving around New Zealand from 90 mile beach at the top, all the way down to a boat trip over to Stewart Island in the far south. Packed in the adventure: Jumped out of a plane at 15000ft, a bungee jump, paraglide from a mountain top, white water rafting, jet boat, rode horses through sand dunes and across mountain-sides and swam with dolphins (twice!). New Zealand is a magical place and 'New Zealand - bitten by the travel bug' is both a great 'heads up' to the independent traveller and a wonderful addition to any of your own footage and photos. Many of the things they see and do in the film, we did too, but there were many things new or different. We were there Christmas 2004/2005, this film was shot 2009 and as the New Zealanders are constantly inventing new ways to get an adrenalin rush I'm really looking forward to getting back there, to catch up on the latest mad adventure sports! Would love to do some sailing this time as I liked what I saw in the film. Have Fun! Steven

"A Trip Of A Lifetime", 28 Nov 2010
This review is from: New Zealand - bitten by the travel bug - a different kind of travel film. North and South Island on two DVDs. (DVD)
I have just spent my Sunday morning watching both these DVD's back to back! Wow... it has been the most wonderful journey which exceeded my expectations... The filming is excellent as is the commentary which gives you a great overview. This has given us a good insight for planning our 3 month trip to NZ which has been truely inspirational. If I had to be negative in any way ... I would have liked to have seen a little more of the Bay of Islands from an aerial view to get a feel for this talked about beautiful place. I would recommend these DVD's to anyone going to or has been to New Zealand it is a "MUST HAVE MUST SEE".

Magnificent, stunning and highly informative!, 16 Nov 2010
This review is from: New Zealand - bitten by the travel bug - a different kind of travel film. North and South Island on two DVDs. (DVD)
I purchased these truly magnificent dvds after a lot of searching for a really informative travel film guide about New Zealand, rather than buying just another travel guidebook. I bought them as a gift for my brother and sister-in-law who are planning a holiday there next year and they're absolutely delighted as they will help them get the very best out of their holiday. These are not run-of-the-mill travel guides; they are stunningly beautiful films packed full of inspirational material that will not only act as a means of enabling them to maximise a very memorable trip but will be (perhaps!) even more enjoyable to watch when they return and can reminisce on all the wonderful moments of their holiday as they are taken, once again, through the breathtaking footage. I highly recommend these films to anyone thinking about visiting New Zealand. Bon voyage!

This review is from: New Zealand - bitten by the travel bug - a different kind of travel film. North and South Island on two DVDs. (DVD)
I bought both DVDs of NZ for my son as a birthday gift as he is interested in touring the country in the near future. It is a good overview of NZ and what to expect when you go there. The commentary was very informative and not too long.

A really exciting introduction to NZ, 21 Jun 2010
This review is from: New Zealand - bitten by the travel bug - a different kind of travel film. North and South Island on two DVDs. (DVD)
We will be travelling to NZ later this year and bought this two DVD set to help us plan our trip. The perspective from two intrepid travellers is both novel and informative. You get a real feel for the countryside, for the light, the wide landscape etc. It has certainly encouraged us to visit a few places included on the discs. There is for us, too much emphasis on the Kiwi's love of extreme sport and adventure activities. Quite a bit of the DVD is dedicated to some of the more wild things you can do, great to see but not for us. We were hoping it would give us more regional information, there were quite large areas not covered (possibly for good reason!) which I shall have to find out from another source. Overall it makes great viewing and I am looking forward to re-watching it when we get back.

Looking forward to going again., 14 April 2010
This review is from: New Zealand - bitten by the travel bug - a different kind of travel film. North and South Island on two DVDs. (DVD)
New Zealand is a country I have been privileged to visit a number of times, & love it. Having seen a couple of DVD presentations produced for the NZ tourist industry, I was interested in seeing film showing a tourist's view of the country. I found this presentation to be just that - a "down to earth" tourist's view. Some of the areas visited I had been to, some I had not. Personally, I would have liked to have seen some areas covered more thoroughly, & less time showing others. And then of course, there are those wonderful parts of NZ not shown at all. But there's only a certain amount one can cram onto two DVDs, & I think they did it commendably. If you haven't been to NZ before, these two DVDs will give you a pretty good insight into the country.
