I bought this watch a few weeks ago, and I really like it. Appearance-wise, I find it very attractive in a tool-watch kind of way. The basic time readout, with large clear hands on a dark grey dial is very pleasing - and very easy to read at a glance. The subdials and the digital displays do take a bit more studying. The reversed LCD displays are probably the only downside to this watch - they do need reasonable lighting to read them easily - but they do look very cool. (There is another variant of this watch, with non-reversed displays, which I imagine would be easier to read - but probably not as cool looking. You take your choice!)

The watch does have a lot of functions and does need some initial setting up - which takes a little bit of time, and a good read through of the manual - which I like: for me, reading the manual is part of the ritual of getting a new techie toy. Once the initial setup's done though, the basic operation of most of the functions of the watch are pretty straightforward - and probably reasonably familiar to those who've had a Casio previously. The sychronisation with the atomic time signal worked faultlessly - and it's fun watching the sub-dial hand move from ready to working as it picks up the radio signal. Synching only takes a couple of minutes, and where I live (West Midlands) is perfectly reliable - no need to put the watch in the window, just wear it, or put it on the shelf.

The full auto backlight is neat to. It turns on with a rotation of the wrist - but only when the ambient light is low - it doesn't come on when it's not dark enough (neat). The only downside to the light is that it doesn't backlight the LCD displays - which is a shame - the watch would be really improved if the module had a few more little LEDs in it to light up the LCDs - it would really improve its function. The hands are nice and luminous, so in some ways, the backlight in its current design doesn't add a lot of function - you can read the time easily in the dark without it.

In use, the watch is light, comfortable to wear, and nice and rugged-feeling. The solar power charges up pretty quickly in daylight too - when I first got the watch, it was on medium charge, but a few hours outside and the indicator hand was indicating high.

There are a lot of features to really like about this watch, and the only thing I would like to see improved is the backlight. For the money I paid for it, I have no complaints.

This was a pleasant surprise, The watch arrived in 3 days on Amazons standard service.. not bad for free! The watch was very attractive, I had not seen one except for the photos which don't do it justice.
The grey appearance in the photos of the bezel is stainless steel, which looks much better in real life.
I was going to buy a cheaper model, and am pleased i opted for this. The back light feature is useful, especially the automatic function. just tip it towards you at night and it lights.. very cool and useful.
At 51 the eyes are getting a bit weaker now, and some of the digits are small, but i can manage ok. The functions are pretty easy to use and not too bad to set up, although i have had a casio g shock before.
I must admit to being an outdoor extreme sports instructor.. getting a bit old for it i know, hay ho. The reason for the choice of g shock was i keep breaking other sports watches, Sekonda, Swatch (top of the line stainless) all fell to bits in no time. I had an early g shock which did well. this one looks solid and will last me years i am sure. I have really large wrists and there was enough strap to go around and leave 2 notches free, well done casio.

This watch runs on a battery that is automatically recharged from daylight. It keeps perfect time by automatically correcting the time it displays to match an electronic time signal it picks up on a regular basis. So the watch is always spot on in terms of accurate time and the date is always correct as well. You can set it up to tell the correct time all around the world, a true GMT.

It's a bit fiddly to set up and the digital read outs need good lighting to read them and its a bit chunky and can not be described as a dress watch. But its no more fiddly than other watches costing a lot more money.

It is very comfortable to ware and the strap is long enough for big wrists, it is waterproof to 200 meters (sorry, it resists the ingress of water up to 20 bar water pressure) its tough and strong and built to take knocks.

It does lots of other stuff, like a stopwatch and it has alarms and the face lights up if you want it to, but the main thing is that it is easy to read the time and it tells you the correct time all the time.

I like watches and this one is fantastic and a bit of a bargain and great quality. Thank you Casio.

Nice looking watch, tough, durable with good build quality exactly what you would expect from Casio. Does exactly what it says on the tin. And looks cool too! Nephew was very happy with it and has had no problems, finding it easy to use and particularly likes the way it sets itself. So on whole very happy. I would recommend this watch if your actively into sport. Delivery was very good also deserving the five stars!

Yes the picture is wrong, this watch has the black LCD display and silver front casing but I new that when I bought it. Functionally it's genius, always perfectly in time and runs on sun power. brilliant!

I bought this watch two weeks ago. It seemed impressive, very cool presented in a metallic can with a fully handbook.
After two weeks and without any shock or stress applied to the watch, I found the small hand, used to be in the left side of the dial, moving free around the dial.
I can't wonder what would be the watch behavior if the watch would be subjected to "strong gravitational forces" as the manufacturer publicizes. Will it disintegrate in every single component?
I am returning back the faulty watch to the dealer right now.

Just to let anyone know who is thinking of buying this, the watch actually delivered by Amazon has a steel bezel. This is the cheaper of the models and looks (in my opinion) far inferior to the all black model as shown. Amazon need to change the image. Otherwise if you are happy with the watch with a steel bezel then fine. I sent mine back.
