5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely tunic
I ordered this because it reminded me a little of a school uniform, long ago, with a funky edge to it. I'm so glad I did!

The material is 50 % wool, 50 % viscose, so it looks nice but has a little stretch to it. I ordered a ten (I'm 5'5" and 60 kg) and it fit perfectly - primarily because of the stretch. A size bigger would definitely have been too big...

As someone else mentioned, it doesn't provide any coverage in the back, as it's a tunic and thus designed to be worn with leggings or trousers. I think it's probably more of a wintery item, due to the wool, so I'll be saving it till the weather gets a bit less glorious :)

It arrived very promptly and in perfect condition, so I'm really pleased with this purchase all in all.

Don't be fooled by the photo and the positive reviews - this dress is awful. I can only assume that the fabric has changed recently because other reviewers don't mention that it feels and looks like a brillo pad. Where's the wool?? The hems didn't match up. The left side panel was an inch longer than the back. The stitching fell apart as soon as I attempted to put it on (which I couldn't because it felt so itchy) and what the photo doesn't show are the horrible light grey stretch panels down the side. This isn't a dress it's an is unfinished, rough cut sack. DO NOT BUY!!!

Having read the negative comment I have been delighted with my purchase and wear it over leggings and skirts. I thought it would be a bit tight but that is the way it is worn - so thinking now of getting the checked one. But wouldn't recommend it for someone with a big bottom!!

This is a very flattering tunic top, the material is surprisingly flexible and hangs well. I like that it is quite unusual and fashionable.

However, whilst it is described as a 30 degree wash, I just know it is actually hand wash only. This means I will wear it slightly less than other more easily washed clothing.

2.0 out of 5 stars Favourite UNflattering tunic, 23 April 2010

I love the design of this tunic but I had to return it because the stitching came undone - and then the stitching came undone on the replacement one! Also the sizing is really tiny (buy at least one size bigger than normal) and the back of the skirt is faaaaaar too short!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Scratchy and short, 13 Nov 2010
Good experience with seller but did not like the material this item was made from. It was scratchy and rough and the tunic was more of a top than a tunic.

4.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable dress, quite happy, 22 Feb 2011
This review is from: Joe Browns Favourite Flattering Tunic (Apparel)
I had a lot of problems with the delivery of this dress (not the company's fault) and when I finally received the dress, I was worried that the trouble would have been for nothing and I wouldn't like it! When I pulled it out of the bag, I was unsure about it, especially the material. I was weary about the panels of light wool down the sides and my initial response was that the main material looked and felt like office carpet. However, when I finally tried the dress on (with a long sleeved plain white t-shirt underneath and black skinny jeans) and it fit perfectly, the size is just right. Very comfortable (with the shirt underneath) and I'm not too cold or too hot in it. I definitely would recommend wearing something like jeans underneath it as it's quite short at the back but I don't plan to wear it on its own so this doesn't effect me. I thought the front pocket was completely fake but I was pleasantly surprised to realise it acts almost as a pouch; a quite secure pouch that my phone fits into nicely without fear of it falling out! Very happy with this dress, thank you very much!

1.0 out of 5 stars looks good but poor quality, 22 May 2010

disappointed at the quality of this. unhemmed edges, stretchy wool and jersey side panels. looked anything but flattering tbh.
