The first thing many would point out is that there are 'many' missing artists
of the day, that is of course the case, however what is on-board is a collection
of numbers that remain a significant reflection of the music and style we remember
so well.
Those of us that 'raved' about the swinging-sixties couldn't fail to also admire
the sounds that emerged throughout the seventies ( me ? ..'I kept collecting vinyl )
The 3CD compilation is definitely worth checking out, highlighting a few of the
super-sounds on board...disc one...'E.L.O' --'Living Thing'...'Lou Reed' --'Walk on
the Wild Side'...'Bay City Rollers' --'Shang a Lang'...'Chas and Dave' --'Gotcha'...
'Smokie' --'So You Think You Know How To Love Me'...'and...'Chicory Tip' --Son of my
Father'....just a few of the sounds on disc one, disc two...'Elvis' --'The Wonder of
You'...'Dolly Parton' --'Jolene'...'Melanie' --'Brand New Key'...'Gladys Knight and
The Pips' --'Midnight Train To Georgia'...'Perry Como' --'It's Impossible'...and...
'Sad Cafe' --'Every Day Hurts'...just a few among a great track list on disc two...
on the third...'Average White Band' --Piok up The Pieces'...'The Tymes' --'Ms Grace'
...'Drifter's' --'Kissin' in the back row of the Movies'...'Johnny Nash' --'I Can
See Clearly Now'...'Tina Charles' --'I Love to Love'...and...'The Tramms' --'Hold
Back the Night'...again just highlighting one or two of the many great sounds on disc
three.
I've pin-pointed a few examples of the sounds on board showing the quality on-board.
Currently at a 'Bargain-Price'....worth checking out.

TOP 500 REVIEWERon 25 December 2015
This '70s' entry in Music Club's 'Ultimate' collection contains some excellent hits from the rather 'hit-and-miss' decade. The variety of styles on this three disc set is truly electric, from pop and glam rock to country and disco, and once more -- all, or least most of these songs appear to be the originals.

There is some truly excellent material which has stood the test of time on offer here. Alongside some catchy novelty numbers, there are some genuine greats like Lou Reed's 'Walk on the Wildside', and 'All the Young Dudes' by Mott the People on the first CD, and the budget record company even managed to get the Elvis Presley chart-topper 'The Wonder of You' to open up the second.

Of course, people are not going to like everything on such an extensive collection, especially not 60 songs which are culled together from over a large variety, so there was always to be same that you wouldn't want to give a second spin, but with many so songs that were new to me, this is one of the most varied, and worthwhile 1970s music sets I've come across, and it makes for a nice present.

Very much my era - singing along like I did every Sunday to Pick of the Pops!
Only confusion the album info picked up on the PC bore no relation to what was on the discs!
