I was a bit confused before I bought the Radial Micro as some reviews said it wouldn't charge more recent (2009+) iDevices. It turns out that JBL have updated the Radial Micro to now charge using 5V USB pins, so my iPod Nano 4th Generation now charges in the dock.

You can tell the difference between the two versions:

1) The front of the updated V2 has a small lip at the bottom of the speaker grille which the original V1 didn't have.

2) On the back of the V2 is just a power button, DC socket and 3.5mm audio in. The original V1 also had a USB-A port and S-Video connector.

Quality audio, fills the room no problem, great size for bedside table, kitchen etc. Fits my iPod Touch and iPhone 4. Charges great too. Recommended!

This was bought as a Christmas present for my son; unfortunately the speaker dock did not recognise his I pod touch 4. It would charge it but that’s as far as it went. I tried my I pod Classic and the speaker work fine. It’s a shame because the sound reproduction from such a small speaker is excellent. I have been informed that this is a software incompatibility problem. The speaker was sent back to Amazon and my account was refunded on the same day, Very impressive service from Amazon.
We have now bought a “Aves Sapphire Wireless Bluetooth Speaker with iPod Dock”, which will charge the I pod and because of the Bluetooth it overcomes the software incompatibility problem, Sound quality is a good as the “JBL Radial Micro Version 2 Speaker Dock” but it’s a bit bulkier and not as good looking.

This is a good-looking item to have on display in a modern environment. We have recently condensed our cd and vinyl library into an I-Tunes music library and we use this docking station with the Ipod Classic in Black, so it looks very stylish, apart from giving good reproduction and volume. Would recommend this to anyone who loves their music and needs to update/save space!

This is better than what I would of thought. It has some really good sounds & bass with no distortion. Very nice looking & has a bit of weight to it but not to make it heavy. I took it out of the box & within a minute It was plugged in switched on & connected to my HTC One phone playing my music. It comes with remote control, power unit, fittings for iphones & has a small jack phone lead. Setting up is so easy a 2 year old could do it. Very pleased with this product & will be looking in the future at other JBL speakers/docking stations. This product will be making my hotel stays even better, maybe not for the other guests lol. :)

I have used these at very well equipped self catering cottages and have bought one to take to the less well equipped ones! Quite compact and decent sound, though I am not sure the latest iPod will plug into it. However one can use the supplied adapter cable with iPads and iPods using the 3.5mm headphone port.

I bought one of these without reading any reviews because as soon as I docked my iPhone in the shop I was amazed by the sound from this little thing! it's all that's needed in a medium sized bedroom. The build quality is very solid and it's fairly hefty for its size. and it has great ultra-modern looks.

You get a packet of iPod\iPhone adaptors, so every model is catered for! a little remote and a power adaptor are also in the box ..there are instructions too, but they're not needed as operation is very simplistic.

p.s: I notice they're are out of stock (1-2 month waiting list) for this item - is that why the price is currently very nearly £30 more than I paid? naughty.

Bought as an xmas pressie for youngest (27yr old nurse). She is happy as it works well with her Iphone (she did go over to the dark side lol) and puts out a pretty good sound considering how small the four speakers are! It was pumping out music before she had fully unpacked the box which shows how simple set up is. There is also an alternative method of input by way of a 3.5 mm cable which can plug into pretty much any device with this size of headphone connector. Oh and teh dinky remote worked first time as well. Well done JBL and also well done to Amazon....£8 cheaper than comet lol

I have been looking for a nice speaker for a long time, then I notice JBL has a very special design outlook. I like this one, it was a little bit smaller than i thought, But as it is said 'Micro' it still works. My nano4 is just able to set in and as it only has 4 little speakers, it works well. I tried to put my iphone4 in, it works, but not so easy and i decide not to do it again. Remoter works good too, i just lie on my bad and turn on/off, louder/lower, I enjoy it!!!!!!!!!

For something so small, it certainly has enough power coming from it to please any music taste. I bought this item to use with my iphone, and although it doesn't work 100% with the iphone, i can still do most things with it, the remote still controls the iphone enough for you to appreciate the speaker dock. So all in all im happy with it, the only downside i found was that it didn't take batteries to make it more mobile, but other than that, well pleased. :)
