I have owned a pair of these for several years now - they are FANTASTIC! Comfy and flexible, don't smell of rubber and you can walk for miles in them. My husband has a pair of original Hunters and they are much slimmer in the calf. When i have tried to wear his I have had a fight to put them on and my trousers have to go on the outside, defeating the object rather. However, the Huntress has just that little bit of extra width in the calf, meaning if, like me, you are not a tall willowy creature with a slim calf or two(for whom the normal Hunter is perfect)you can get your leg PLUS your trousers and a pair of warm socks down in there! They were excellent for recent walk-to-work-in-the-snow-days too :)

I have worn Hunter wellies for about 20 years - so has my husband - but we won't be buying them again and are looking for an alternative. We walk our dog for a mile or so twice a day along field tracks and don't wear them at all during the summer months if it's dry. Ever since the manufacture moved out of the UK the quality has dramatically deteriorated to the point where they now only last us for a matter of months, rather than years. The first parts to go are the heels which are now hollow and they rapidly disintegrate. Oh and the buckle dropped off after a couple of weeks!

I bought these wellies after reading a lot about how comfortable they were etc. Mine arrived yesterday. Navy size 4. I'm normally a size 5 but decided to go for the 4 as I read they are quite big made.

Firstly, yes they are relatively comfortable considering they are wellies, but I honestly couldn't wear them any longer than maybe say a good few hours...I just don't find they are THAT comfortable.

Secondly, they are a wider fit for ladies with bigger calf's - Now, my calf's are big! I'm generally a size 12/14 but with very large chunky calf's! I was still worried that these boots might be a bit tight, but they were PERFECT with regards to calf sizing! I can easily slip them on, and even over a pair of leggings they are easy to slip on. Superb!

Finally the sizing....Hmm, well, like I say, I bought a uk4, but I'm normally a uk5...The 4 is very snug, but I absolutely know for a fact judging by the 4, if I'd bought the 5 they would have been to big! It's very disappointing that hunter don't do half sizes, as the 4.5 would have been absolutely spot on! But I'd far rather have snug wellies than them flopping around, so I'm generally overall pleased with the size 4 fitting.

These wellies are great for walking the dogs, walking through boggy wet fields or mucking out stables... but would I say they are worth the money? All in all, no, I wouldn't. I'd say they are worth maybe £20'ish. I don't regret buying them, and I'd certainly buy Hunters again in the future - But I'd most likely hunt around (no pun intended!) for a bargain such as an online sale, or half price etc.

Ordered these in desperation after a new pair (another brand) gave out and the rubber split after only a month or so. They are very lightweight and have much thinner soles than I am used to, but are OK. They will not stand up to regular walking so I will probably keep them for gardening and dewy grass in spring / autumn, but will certainly have to get another pair for countryside in winter. Why oh why have all these decent old brands sold out to the fashion brigade? Some of us actually need performance rather than looks from our kit. Disappointing for the price.

This product does not feel as robust as the other hunter wellies we have purchased over the years, the material is very flimsy and the cut does not compare.

Neither my own nor my daughter's pairs have lasted three years and they are used for only a few hours a week for dog walking over fields. My first two pairs of Hunters lasted ten years each. These boots now represent terrible value - such as shame as I find them so comfy.

Understand Hunter wellies aren't manufactured in the UK any longer - perhaps that explains the deterioration in quality. Latest pair purchased Nov'11 - within 2 years letting in water....!!! Used to so like Hunters.... :(

An excellent product, not robust but useful for popping on and off to walk around in wet weather. Need other wellies for really bad conditions.
Delivered quickly and overall very pleased.

2 days ago I noticed that my sock on my right foot was damp when I took my wellington off. I checked the sole of the right wellington today and noticed a 3 cms horizontal split between the tread on the sole. I checked the sole on the left wellington-also split in the same place. I only purchased them in January. When I checked the soles, I noticed that the wellingtons are Made in Indonesia. The first pair of Hunters I owned lasted me for years, they were made in the UK, that is why I chose to buy the same make. A high profile brand is being let down by inferior materials.I will not be buying Hunter wellingtons again.

I ordered these boots on Monday and they arrived on Wednesday - fantastic service! The boots are great - not too wide in the foot and very comfortable on the first wear. They look very stylish too.
