Not as practical as it looks!
on 14 January 2014
I bought this as it looked like a really good idea for taking salads to work, and I could use the separate compartments on top for sandwich ingredients etc. to stop them going soggy if I prepared them in advance.
Unfortunately, this is not really practical. While the bottom section is a good size for a pasta salad or similar, or a sandwich from one of those smaller size loaves, it does squish rolls a bit, and a chunky sandwich would struggle to fit.
My main gripe is with the top compartments. The hinges are flimsy (I've only used it a couple of times and they feel weak already) and these sections are not watertight. More annoyingly, nor is the bottle which comes with the lunchbox, meaning that when I got my lunch out of the fridge on the first morning this whole section had flooded with squash, which had then leaked into the other two top compartments and ruined the food in there.
I've ditched the bottle now, and tend to just use the bottom section for salads with a few grapes and things in the top section. This is annoying as I'm still having to take things in separately, which defeats the whole point of a lunchbox!
